What Is A Mentor?

The Encyclopedia Britannica Gives this definition for mentor;

 Main Entry: mentor
Function: noun
Etymology: Latin, from Greek Ment‹r
1 capitalized: a friend of Odysseus entrusted with the education of Odysseus' son Telemachus
2: a trusted counselor or guide b : tutor, coach

Everyone needs a mentor especially those engaged in network marketing. They provide us far more than what is stated in the encyclopedia. Some of the support, but not all, I get from my mentor is as follows;

They act as a sounding board for our ideas.

They objectively help you evaluate a course of action.

They have no personal agenda except your success.

They are available 7 days a week.

They will share all of their resources and knowledge with you.

They will help guide you through the maze of relations that you will encounter as you build your business.

They will encourage and help develop your leadership qualities.

They listen to your frustrations and failures without blame and help guide you back onto the path of success.

They will criticize your course of action when appropriate, they do not scold only encourage the proper course of action.

They do not tell you what to think, they encourage you to learn how to think.

And most of all they become a true friend.

That is a big list and it is by no means all that I get from my Friend and Mentor. She has devoted time to me when I really needed it to the extent of jeopardizing her own business. This is especially true in my case. I am dyslectic and find reading things on the internet extremely difficult causing misunderstanding of content. It was so bad that when opening busy pages I experienced twinges of fear. Needless to say I was a tough teach.

I know I tried her patience on more than one occasion, we had some heated discussions but she stayed thru thick and thin as she promised she would when we started. She would not let me fall victim to my frustrations. Because of her efforts I am well on my way to becoming a really  great marketer.

Thank you Daniela Reiss, My Friend And Mentor, you stayed with me and that makes you a “Preeminent Mentor”.

I also want to thank Juanita Waterman for all her help and guidance I also list her as a friend and Mentor.

I promise I will pass it along to others.
