I cannot afford it!
This is by far the number 1 objection I receive when I am recruiting people for my home based business. It is such a popular objection that I am prepared to overcome it on most every call. However, do you really want people to join your business who cannot afford it? Remember when you are recruiting you are in charge. The people on the other line need to know that you are important and that you have taken time out of your busy schedule to call them, and you quite frankly get to choose who you want to partner with. Don't be timid or weak, be a leader and control the situation.
Here are few suggestions that you can make if you really think someone would be great for your business:
- If they are w-2 employees, tell them the government will pay for their business (change their filing status and start claiming write-offs)
- Ask them if they have a credit card?
- Ask them if they still have questions, if so, it may be time for a 3-way or time to send them back to your website for more information.
- Find out what their why is? Keep bringing that up and maybe they will feel enough pain to join your biz?
- If they honestly want to get involved and cannot afford it, you could always offer them a rebate from your commission check. (Don't recommend, but have tried it)
If the money is a regular objection, maybe it is best you just tell them that what they really need is a job, not a business and move on.
Happy Recruiting!
