Are You Listening to ME???!!!

I am really P-O'd at the moment.  I just got off the phone after a 1/2 hour of listening to someone pitch me on someone else's product.  (A VERY well known marketing expert).

It all started with a follow up call from one of the marketing experts customer service people to see how well I liked the product and how I was doing.  He was following up to also sell me on coaching that I told him I did not need.  (I said that I did not need it because I was told by the last guy that called me that I was a little more advanced than the coaching).  Ok, fine and dandy.

So he threw out the name of this new program and asked if I had heard about it.  I told him that I believed I had seen emails from this marketer and other marketers out there about it but had not looked into it.  He then proceeded to tell me that he would like to forward me on to someone with a little more knowledge than he had to tell me the details.  (I should have known that would be the sale pusher - but I had a niave moment).  I agreed anyway.

So the shark finally got on the phone.  He proceeded to tell me how great his bosses products were, matter fact the product that I was curious about was even SOLD OUT but it COULD be available to select VIP's.  He proceeded to run down all of these things that I could get as bonuses if I paid the $5,000 for the VIP product.

Funny thing is, he never even discussed WHAT it could do for ME or HOW it would benefit ME or even asked ME what I might need.

That was REALLY enlightening moment for me even though it pisses me off so bad.

How many times do we ASK our customers what THEY need?  How many times do we ask our customers what THEY are looking for or how WE could better HELP THEM?  Not enough I assure you.

The really sad thing is that I now see the main (VERY well known) marketing guy as a jack-a@@.  And I shouldn't, or should I?  Is he the one that trains his people just to take?  Is he the one that doesn't care about what others might NEED or WANT?

I will never know and who really cares.  All I can do is be THE BEST that I can be for OTHERS, my customers.  The people that I enjoy helping.  The people that put money in my bank account.

Ok, I feel better now after venting.

Have a Blessed Day,

Wendy Leal

You GO Girl!

Isn't that what sales is all about?  Selling people something that they didn't know they needed?  I think that's why im not a very good sales person.  Anyway, I like your post! ;-)
