Think & Grow Rich - Chapter 2 - Desire

Desire is the starting point. When it begins it is just a wish, just a hope.
When it reaches the point of a Burning Desire, a Consuming Obsession
that transcends all else, THEN it becomes Definite.

To maintain that state of mind so essential to success I must make a plan
backed with persistence that does not recognize failure.

The hardest part for me is to reach the point where my mind is so saturated
with the desire for money, I can see myself in possession of it.

It calls for imagination.
If I do not see great riches there,
I will never come to believe I will possess it.

This week I asked for some small sign of encouragement. Something to fuel my spirit,
keep me from the influence of those who scorn the dreamer. I had a need for something
physical to help me stand firm until the dreams become a physical reality.

As I walk back home from the library through the snow. I dared to ask for some little sign that I could touch
and hold each day to renew the pledge to myself. To strengthen my belief that I CAN acquire
my high aims in life.

I decided on a feather. I hear the Bluejays fighting and mating, I would ask for something within reason
on my three block trek back to my apartment. A large, beautiful Bluejay feather was slim, but not impossible.
I asked for a feather.... then as I walked I scanned the snowbanks. I had only walked half the distance when
I stopped in amazement. I walked over and plucked the most beautiful feather I had ever seen out of a snowbank.
It was NOT a common Bluejay feather... it was a large lime and dark green and orange parrot feather!!!

It was as if the Infinite Intelligence said:
The only limitation is what you set in your mind.

The feather is my daily reminder to never again think small.
Burning Desire is the starting point, then believe in it and do it.
