Three Main Reasons Why People Do Not Achieve Their Goals
1) The problem is that most people do not do it seriously; therefore they do not do it consistently.
2) People are setting them too lightly without internalising them as something they MUST do.
3) People do not know WHY they have their goals. – Reasons for your goals are the number 1 thing that will drive you – the answer comes second.
People usually have in their heads what they would like to achieve but most of the time, we do not take it as something we actually could achieve. We do not take the time to think about it as something we should work on.
So what we should do to actually take it seriously?
Write it down – Write down your goals and commit to yourself that you will do everything it takes to achieve it; and that you will not give up even when it looks like you are not moving forward.
Next thing, you should do is set up a time when you want to have your goal achieved – 5 years, 10 years or a few months. Make sure that it is a realistic time. And do everything you need to do to get it in the time.
Another thing, I would suggest you to do is to break your goals into small steps, tasks which will take you to your goal. One big goal may be overwhelming but when you break it down into smaller tasks; you will slowly move toward your goal, plus you will see the results which will be motivating.
Every day before bed, write down things you need to do the next day to reach your goal. And DO IT.
It is very important that you know WHY you want to achieve your goals. How would that change your life? What effect would that have on you and your family? It is so essential because this will motivate you and drive you toward your goals.
Write down your why and read it as often as it is possible to motivate yourself. Maybe stick it on your fridge or other place where you look often, to remind yourself why you do this.
Now go and write down your goals.
