No's are just a Part of the Business

First of all - let’s get one thing straight! …you’re going to get more “no’s” than “yes’s!” I’ve had individuals that I worked with come back to me and say, “James, this system isn’t working! All the people I’ve talked to haven’t responded the way you said they would! …what gives?”

My response: “Hmmmm… Okay. Just how many people have you talked to and exactly what did you say to them?”

Here’s the bottom line; I know as sure as the sun sets in the west that when someone tells me “this is not working like you said” two things are in play. Either they haven’t talked to enough people or they’re not following the proven system (i. e. re-inventing the wheel) or a combination of both!

There is nothing new in sales or recruting! The basic tenet is Numbers! Numbers! Numbers!
…and oh yeah, did I mention? …Numbers! Why? Because, you will always get more “no’s” than
“yes’s” period!

I hate “No’s” …who doesn’t? Is the fear of “no” stopping you from taking action? Nobody likes rejection. But the fear of rejection is the number one roadblock to success! I know what you’re thinking, “Come on James! I know that the fear of “no’s” is what’s keeping me from succeeding. How do you conquer this fear?”

I too had an extreme fear of “no’s.” And so did my Son Bryan, but we went to motivational seminars for help. I’ll never forget one experience I had at one of these events. The first speaker said,
“Don’t take the ‘no’s’ personal!” I said, “Okay! Got it! Don’t take the ‘no’s’ personal!” Then the next speaker came on and said, “You’ve got to sell yourself!” I thought to myself, “Huh? How does that work? Let’s see …Don’t take the ‘no’s’ personal but you’ve got to sell yourself!” Okay! Now I’m really confused!” The bottom line is I worked through the fear. In fact I had an epiphany! It dawned on me that I’m in the lifeboat throwing out the life preservers! It’s not the other way around! Wow! It’s as if someone flipped a switch. Suddenly I had no more fear of “no.”

You have the gold! I believed that was I was presenting was truly helping people. Many of you feel the same way about your product or service. When you are talking to your potential agent or client you are basically throwing them a life preserver, they can either choose to grab it or they can drown! Free will doesn't mean we always make the right choice. Don't take offense to people telling you "NO" and remember you have an opportunity to change lives and gain financial independence.
