When you first start in our line of business you begin by talking to your friends, family and relatives. This is the way to go in starting out. You always want to start learning how to prospect by going to your warm market.
After that initial effort put into the approach to the warm market people begin to run out of people to talk to. One secret to success in our industry is always have TOO many people to talk to. If you don’t have enough people to talk to you are going to end up being a needy prospector.
So what do you do from there? I recommend you invest your time into generating leads. There are many different generic ways for you to generate your own leads.

It is important for you to approach these people from that standpoint that you are looking for some key leaders in your business. So you want to quickly sort out the people that are not qualified.

People can sense it if you NEED them and if you need them then they will not likely want to get involved in your business. They are looking for a leader who can guide, train and help them to success. So when you approach people make sure to have the posture of a leader and show them that you are sorting through a lot of people to find a leader. Make sure to disqualify some people and tell them that "you sound like a nice person, but unfortunately you do not qualify." This will TOTALLY change your outlook on each person you approach.

Here is a great script to use to sort out your prospects.

Hello ____________? This is __________. I am contacting you because you requested information about making money from home. Is that true?

Go ahead and grab a pen and paper.

What we are going to do is I am going to ask you a few questions to see if you qualify as someone that we want to work with. Then I will give you a website (or an email or whatever your choice of tools is) for you to visit so that you can learn about our company, the industry and what you will be doing for us. Does that sound fair?

Great…are you currently working from home?

What kind of income are you looking to make from home? (make them answer this…don’t let them say, as much as possible,etc.)

Why are you looking to make that amount of money from home? What are you trying to accomplish?

If I could show you a way to make ______________ a month in order to ______________ would that be something that would interest you?

What are you currently doing?

What do you like the most about what you do?

Is there anything you don’t like about it?

Tell me about that.

Just so you know we have a high standard for the people that we work with because it takes a lot of effort and time on my part to get you started successfully. We are looking for people who are self-starters, self-motivated and are team players.

Are you a self-starter?

Yes….ok…tell me about a situation that would demonstrate you are a self-start.

Would you consider yourself a team player?

Tell me about a time you worked together with a team to accomplish a specified goal.
