Thoughts on Faith
I believe that faith is an attitude; a knowing. It’s strength when there’s need, and the ability to put a best foot forward despite challenges, and “knowing” that everything will turn out well.
To have faith is to believe in that which cannot be seen or touched because we believe in our spirit that it’s right.
When I think of faith I think of vision or eye-sight. My faith is strategically near-sighted. Sometimes trying to get my mind around the big picture can challenge my faith, while just looking at the next step or two is far less overwhelming and provides me with consistent comfort and a state of mind and feeling that I can, without a doubt, successfully reach the next step in my journey towards achieving my desires.
Because of this, I have become accustomed to feeling positive in my beliefs, which has in turn allowed me to develop a frame of mind that consistently weathers any storm and always manage to find the silver lining.
I believe that when one lacks faith it creates an empty space in their spirit that allows emotions like fear, doubt, anxiety, worry, and helplessness to move in. The more of these negative emotions that move in, the more difficult it is to find room for faith.
I once read that when you come to the end of all the light you know, and it is time to step into the darkness of the unknown, faith is knowing that one of two things shall happen:
Either you will be given something solid to stand on or you will be taught to fly.
