The Biggest Trap In Network Marketing(Jaime Morales)

How can it be, sometimes we fall into the biggest trap in network marketing of being a follower, in the trap of getting so used to cheering for others that you forget your initial intent when you signed on the dotted line. The game that you signed up to play is the game of your success story.

I'm all about cheering and sharing everyone else's success but let's not forget to stay aggressively after the one thing that we came in to this industry to accomplish (your dreams.)

Last night I went out to have some dinner and I ran across a couple of friends who were part of my organization with my old company. Now mind you they are not rookies, they are seasoned veterans, they were with me for 3 years prior to me leaving the company. They were so excited telling me that the company added money to the compensation plan, how such and such just got the ring, how some kid came in and out of nowhere reached the very top in only 45 days, how the training they had just left was so good and how the speaker was so good and wow! they also said to me that 2% is here and how great it felt. I felt so bad.

I felt bad to see what they had allowed to happen, how they were caught up in the hype. I remember in many conference calls and master mind events I taught them that yes we play team, yes we cheer for others, yes we keep the marketplace united, yes we edify our leadership, yes we help out at the events but NO, not at the expense of our very own stories, No, not at the expense of becoming a cheerleading squad for someone else's dream while neglecting our own and forgetting to pursue the building of our own dynasty and our very own group dynamics. They thought I was selfish at the time.

So out of curiosity I came home logged in to the company website and checked their numbers. To no surprise they were 0's all across. 0 recruits, 0 membership counters, 0 team recruits and all that = 0 DOLLARS.

My massage is not to put anyone on blast, my message is to remind all of us in this industry that you are here to first and foremost to build your dream, to build your story, to take care of your WHY, all the other stuff is secondary. Never exchange building your future for cheering for someone else's. You have to push yourself and have a competitive spirit because you are competing not against anyone else but against time. Give your team a hero to see on stage to see you win and empower them to want to win themselves not to just sit there in the crowd for years cheering for you. Kick ass for your team but most importantly kick ass for you.

Be a leader not a follower..
