Value "married" business and it was good

CoolGeorge was a pretty smart guy.  A buddy of his offered to teach him everything he knew about starting up this new business.  In exchange his buddy would take a small portion of George’s sales.  Sounded good and a fair exchange.

There was nothing fancy about his business but it was located at the intersection of 2 busy highways.  He chuckled as he dreamed about all the customers he was going to attract.

His buddy’s education included the sage advice of offering value to his customers before you talk business.  “If you offer value, you know stuff that people appreciate, they will naturally want to know more about you.”  OK.  George loved the concept and immediately contracted a sign company to put his “piece of value” on the highway where everyone could see it.  The sign read “GEORGE’S PLACE  Speed bumps ahead.  Slow down.”

That is information everyone would appreciate.  Perfect.  He sat back to wait for his first customer.  He waited and waited and waited.  Nothing.  Now, George was pretty smart so he thought maybe what he needed was more signs so back to the sign company to create some more “value” for his customers.  “GEORGE’S PLACE  You are 40 miles from the next gas station”  and “GEORGE’S PLACE  You are now 100 miles from the border.

Back to his unnamed store packed with all sorts of great and wonderful stuff to prepare for the influx of customers.  He waited – nothing.  He waited some more – still nothing.  Wait a minute, here he was giving all this great “valuable” information to his potential customers and nobody was paying any attention to his store.

Now George was a pretty smart guy so he decided to experiment.  He bought another sign that recorded the temperature.  He placed that sign right on the highway in front of his place.  That sign read “IT IS NOW 92 degrees.  Pick up a cool refreshing drink at
GEORGE’S PLACE”.  Then he grabbed a big paint brush and a can of black paint and proceeded to paint GEORGE’S PLACE in big black letters across the front of his store.

GEORGE’S PLA

Before he was done, a car turned off the highway, pulled up and a man got out.  “I’m ready for that cool refreshing drink” and George had his first customer.  In the store, the two men chatted as the customer chose his drink, “Do you know how far Sewell is from here?”  George didn’t but he had a couple of different maps for sale in the store.  “See if one of these will help you” and at that very minute George became a sales person.  He engaged, he listened and he offered solutions.

George was prevented from continuing his conversation with his first customer as another car pulled in and a family of 5 walked into his store.  George’s smile was genuine as he engaged, listened and offered solutions to these new customers of his.

Later that night, as George reflected on his day he realized his success came only after he married the value he was providing with an invitation to see what he had for sale.  (The temperature plus the cool refreshing drink)

Then he simply engaged his potential customer in conversation, listened to the problem and offered a solution to that problem, becoming a professional sales person in the process.

George never thought he would ever be a good salesperson but it was pretty easy after all.  “I have to teach my buddy what I learned and maybe I’ll be able to help someone start up their own business too.”

Life was good thought George and it wasn’t really all that hard to do.  “Most people are capable of doing this,” George thought to himself as he drifted off to sleep.

My name used to be George or maybe I had the same buddy as George did who taught me the same concept of value without marrying the two concepts.  George used signs to provide value, I am using the written word.  George sold his first customer the map to solve his problem - “How do I get to Sewell from here?”.  I sell the #1 lead generating system on the planet, MLSP, to solve the most common problem in MLM, “How do I get people into my business?”

Did you catch that?  I’m selling you a solution to a problem.  A solution where both of us are winners.  I make money and you get your problem solved.  What could be better than that?

That’s owning and building a business.  Welcome to a whole new world where MLSP provides the solutions.
