3 reasons why you should have a self-hosted wordpress blog

Today I’m going to share with you why I love blogging, and why I believe you should absolutely incorporate a self-hosted wordpress blog into your marketing methods, because…

Blogging has been a main marketing method of mine since I first learned about it over 2.5 years ago. 

Blogging will actually fit into your business no matter what marketing methods you’re already using, because you can very easily just use a blog to teach people what you’re doing in other areas of your business.  This is a great way to implement attraction marketing. 

I believe if you’re going to blog you should absolutely have your own self-hosted wordpress blog verses just posting your content on any sites that allow you to post content like wordpress.com, blogger.com, tumblr.com, and many other sites that allow you to blog on their main site. 

Of course there are a lot of reasons why you should have a self-hosted wordpress blog, and today I’m going to share just 3 reasons with you.

1. A self-hosted wordpress blog can’t get shut down- You can blog on sites like blogger.com or wordpress.com.  You can post content on sites like Facebook, betternetworker.com, and many more sites that are available for you to post content for free.  The only problem with all of these sites is that you have no control over your content staying posted.  Any one of them can decide to shut you down at any point in time if they choose. 

I believe they are great sites to syndicate your content from your main blog to, however I would never rely solely upon any of them in order to have control over my content.

2. A self-hosted wordpress blog will BUILD YOUR OWN BRAND- building your brand should be your main goal when working online so that people from all over will seek you out to work with you and spend money with you.  When you have a blog of your own, it is like your central hub where people can find your content, coaching, training, and your story all in one place.  A self-hosted wordpress blog will make it easy for people to find you again and again and to stay in touch with you. 

3. A self-hosted wordpress blog allows more customization- You can customize everything as far as the look (a header with your face is a great way to brand you), you can add multiple pages to cover different aspects of your business, and you can customize the lead generation capabilities. 

I love the video-popup webform that shows up for every new visitor that comes.  In fact it just went live yesterday and already I’m getting more leads. 

So as you can see it just makes sense for you to have your own self-hosted wordpress blog even if you’re already generating traffic and leads from any other blogging or content distribution platforms on the internet.
