Once Upon A Time

Once upon a time it was safe to walk the streets alone at night. Now it is not even safe to drive the streets at night alone in some cities.

Once upon a time the neighborhood was filled with love and kindness. You could walk into your neighbors backdoor pour yourself a cup of coffee and sit right down at the table and join in on the morning conversation. Now most of us do not even know our neighbors.

Once upon a time you could stay out late and play kick the can with all the neighborhood kids and not have to worry about whose yard you were running through. Now try running through your neighbors yard and you just might get shot at.

Once upon a time you could work for a company and retire with a nice pension with full benefits and live like a king or queen. Now many companies have eliminated these benefits and do a lot of contractual work.

Once upon a time you could travel on a nice vacation and not have to take out a second mortgage to keep fuel in your tank and food in your belly.

Once upon a time a household with one income could support a family of 5 very comfortably. Now most households have two incomes and several jobs and are not even keeping their heads above water.

Once upon a time a can of beans was 16 ounces and it cost about 35 cents now a can of beans is 14 ounces and it costs about 65 cents. Once upon a time you could make it through the week with a 4 pack of toilet paper and now you might make three days.

Once upon a time your dream was to become financially free and enjoy the lifestyle you and your family deserves. Now you are wondering if you will be able to buy a loaf of bread and some milk next week.
