Education in MLM + persistant Action = FREEDOM

If you want Freedom You need Education about MLM. You need How to Skills but you also need skills to protect yourself from scams and scammers who run around dressed up like Network Marketers
Some People do not want you educated. Just like they kept people ignorant in the Dark ages.
The less you know the more advantage they can take of you.
They do not want you to know your P and P's
They do not think you can handle the answer or tell you that is not importain.
They do not want you to Read your P and P's that would just put you to sleep anyway
And the company owners would never do the Terrible things they say in there Pand P's Here is an example of one Companies P and p's
You may terminate your relationship with Company X at anytime by providng a signed written notice to Company X. Company X may also terminate the relationship with you (including andy partnerships, corporations or other entity) at any time by providing written notice. You or Company X are not required to have any reason, nor do you or Company X have to claim or prove any cause to terminate this relationship. If and when the relationship is terminated, you shall have no claim against Company X. nor any right to claim or collect lost profits, lost opportunities or any other damages. Termination will result in the loss of all benefits as a Company X Independent Consultant.
And You won't mind loosing over 200,000 bucks a month in residual income that you gave up 5 years of your life to earn.
WE do not live in the Dark ages and Network Marketing is New compared to some industries.
But you do not have to be ignorant.
Tell me who is teaching you to know your Numbers?
how many people does it take to make 10 k?
Tell me who is teaching you to read your P and P's and know what you can be terminated for?
And tell me who is teaching the legalese in P and P's?
Who is teaching you how to identify Scams?
Who joined over 100 companies to see what is going on out there?
With the Internet Rules have Changed.
No one can stop you from Being Educated
I believe you should know this info if you are a Serious Student of the Industry.
And I Believe you Should Be Educated so you can put yourself in the Best Possible Position for Success.
Others will say No you don't you can not handle it.
Well I challenge you to Handle it Be Responsible.
to know the Difference between MLM and Top Tier, and Scam.
IF you want your FREEDOM Get Educated!

btw- I case any readers are wondering, P and Ps means Policies and Procedures. If locating your companies P&Ps on the company website is equivalent to finding a needle in a haystack, you might want to turn tail and RUN.

Education includes the truth
And the truth is ANY company has the authority to terminate you at any time. Reason being? You are a commission sales representative for your company. Nothing more. Example: If you do something to hurt the reputation of the company - you will be terminated - from ANY company. No company is going to tolerate a person who is creating a negative impression of their company or products. That is the truth.
When you sell product, you get paid. That's commission. You are a paid sales representative working on commission.
End of story. That's education based on fact. Great thing to become passionate about - the truth.
Get educated so you can make a wise decision.
It's critically important to get educated so we can spot the scammers and to be fully aware of what kind of company we may be jumping into. No sense wasting our time and money on the wrong opportunity.

I love this article. Some people still love to twist the truth and sound all knowing.
It has bee brought to my attention that some people will, cover up distort and lie to themselves so long that they actually start believing folks who don't have a clue.
It blows my mind when companies us legal ease words to cover up exactly what they are doing. Such as we have the ability to stop your shipment, cut you off, for any reason we see fit at any time. And say you must be 18 to participate. Oh My, What about he rest of the statement. For any reason they see fit.
PS: That is after you are making a couple grand per month.
Find leaders with integrity. Do your homework get educated.

I so hear you. My son was a commission sales rep for a company and he walked in one morning and was told to leave as they had been some restructuring going on. Just like that - terminated. That's the decision we all make when we become a commissioned sales person whether online or off. He was making good money too operating his own business selling their products just like you and I do.

As a 23-year veteran in this industry, as well as being a Financial Advisor and a Business Consultant by profession, I can honestly say that I have high "respect" for the Network Marketing "business model".
And having served on the Board Of Directors of our professional association for almost 4-years, representing Canada - http://www.TheANMP.org ((takes a min. to open)) - I guess you could say that I've seen the good, the bad, and the ugly of our industry! :>)

Making Companies be accountable and People get their Head out of the Sand I really like this I found on your sight.
BUSINESS 'FACTS' - Well, author / teacher / business tycoon, Robert Kiyosaki, says that Network Marketing is one of the finest "Income Producing Assets" ever (like a High-Rise Apartment Building, etc). That in itself, infers that one should be able to stop building, walk away from, and keep receiving the cash flow - from a solid biz enterprise [such as an MLM biz] at some point. Or how about a Laundromat - or Car-Wash? Or, do you think famous (wealthy) golfer, Arnold Palmer is there 'working on' all his income-producing assets since his retirement? NO - he has trained Managers to look after them - as we in MLM can have. Does Palmer open his mail, read the results, count his money? YES, absolutely! And so can we, in MLM. It's called - PASSIVE INCOME - from work we have 'already done' – but “within” your OWN diversified Business Platform - your OWN Business Enterprise (YOU, Inc).
Walk away income.

"One of the many promises made by uplines and companies - to new prospects - is that they will “own their OWN” business” when they join the opportunity. It's the sweet message in all the flashy brochures - it's on their websites. This is totally false. Yes, you are classified as an Independent Contractor (IC). which is for income TAX purposes only - you DO own a Distributorship => however, you do not OWN your own business - you are NOT an IBO (Independent Business OWNER). The Company owns all the assets (including YOUR downline) - the Company has the power - makes the decisions - writes the rules - calls the shots - has the legal ownership - not the Distributor. The Distributor is => a SALES REP for the Company's produces & services. That’s it.
Note: Not that this is bad at all. In fact, many ‘like’ the fact that that it’s the Company that bears the whole responsibility of ‘ownership’. Others will prefer the freedom of true Entrepreneurship - being a full-fledged IBO (and with the right ‘positioning’ in the Home Business industry - through Internet Attraction Marketing plus SELF Branding plus the appropriate diversification (Multiple, passive [Affiliate] Income Streams) - this can be accomplished). It becomes a profitable, solid business “structure” – one with many different parts to it (‘including’ your MLM)."

You said it far better than I did and I thank you for that. People need to realize that they don't OWN the business and any company can do whatever they want, whenever they want to whomever they want. We are sales reps and as you said "That is a good thing" as they bear the costs ..... etc.
Nothing wrong with that as long as the message being put out is not the erroneous falsehood of "income for life". It's only income for as long as the company is in existence, as long as the company doesn't get sold, as long as the company doesn't go bankrupt.
Good blog Peter and I notice you give the information away for free. Your blog is an example of the education available for free, if you really want the info.

And they have history of taking it away from the Distributors I think that should put up some RED FLAGS. You need to know your P and P if you are SERIOUS. If you are doing this as a Hobby. Don not worry about it!
