MLM Entrepreneur Inspired by Civil Rights Movement

I am inspired to write to you about a story in Life Magazine March 19, 1965.

On the cover you see a beautiful, organized group of civil marchers, being lead by Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., moving towards a fierce sight of troopers ready to club.

Just a week before these same peaceful marchers endured tear gas, bull whips and billy clubs during another march in the same area, Selma, Alabama. One white Rev. James J. Reeb was murdered by blow to his head, with a baseball bat, which crushed his skull.

The whole nation was in an uproar! Sympathy protests were being held all over America.

After this awful event there was another civil rights march scheduled. President Johnson flew in a federal official to help stop protest.

On the eve of the march, Dr. King summoned all the civil rights chieftains for a secret meeting at a friend’s house. Just before dawn he got a call from the Attorney General of the US, imploring Dr.King to stop the demonstration.

As the march began, Dr. King disclosed his position. “ I have been agonizing and I made my choice,” he said, “ I decided it is better to die on the highway than to make a butchery of my conscience”

This protest ended peacefully thank goodness. Dr. King had only informed some close lieutenants, that he had planned to stop the March before they reached troops and end with a prayer. And inside the Life magazine there is beautiful picture of all the protestors, bent down, praying, while troopers stood and watched.

This story reminds me that I too must fight for what I believe in, dream of, and want!

I too must decide to take my chances on the highway of life than to make a butchery of all the dreams and thoughts I hold in my heart!

And that’s exactly why I joined this movement. I am part of a group of 22 people who have agreed to fight for a cause of our own. We are part of a marketing experiment!
