3 Ways G+ Makes ‘Show and Tell’ Fun Again

If you’ve heard of Google Plus (G+) and thought, “not another social network to figure out”, or you’ve have been reluctant to jump on board, here are 3 wonderful ways G+ can help you do more with your contacts, your community and really help marketing efforts in some new and creative ways.

#1 Let it all “Hangout”

What better way to display your stuff than to “Hangout” online? All you need is a simple webcam and a microphone, and presto you’ll be able to connect face-to-face for free with up to 10 people at once with G+ Hangouts. (Facebook uses Video Chat, but is limited to one-to-one communication.) Distance is no longer an obstacle when you want to share the features of your network-marketing program with others. Wow ‘em with the built in Google Docs, draw it out with the whiteboard app, and show ‘em with, live streaming YouTube videos.

#2 Make Caring a Part of Sharing with G+ Circles

Mom’s are great! They love to say funny stuff on our social media profiles that turn our faces an instantaneous deep shade of red. Your best friend definitely wants to hear about your Saturday plans, but your clients don’t typically concern themselves with your weekend game of Pinochle. Circles in G+ help put the caring in sharing because now you can aim your helpful information and engage with those that matter without making your clients sift through the “noise” of your latest photo of “Muffy” the cat, or how much you loved Mom’s new casserole recipe. Circles will help you target your communications and help you manage your marketing efforts on a more microscopic level.

But, remember the term GIGO (that’s Garbage In. Garbage Out)? This means, the more organized your Circles are, the more focused your messages will become and less garbage you will sort through. Your audience will thank you for it too.

Organize your G+ contacts into categorized circles. You might simply separate your friends from customers, or create more elaborate Circles for Brand Evangelists, Repeat Buyers, etc.

#3 You +1

It is typically always wise to fish where the fish when Google is the biggest fish around, it is probably a good idea to go fishing in that pond. While the overall impact is vague on how Google’s social platform -- and use of the +1 button (the equivalent of a Facebook “like”) – directly affect search results; it’s a good bet it won’t be negative. In fact, if only for the reason that Google now has more information to determine how it ranks you, it’s likely a smart idea to encourage your audience to hit that +1 button.

Add the +1 Button to your website, put it in a conspicuous place, and let people share your content via Google.
