Simple ways to Keep Momentum In Your Business

Read More: Mindset  |  Personal Development

One of the biggest challenges of building a business from home, is maintaining consistency in your efforts.

Most of us live busy lives and it is easy to let a day, or in some cases, several days go by, without devoting any time to your business.  When you come back, it seems you have been gone for weeks!

This is where the danger of falling back into old thought patterns or habits can take root.

That is why it is so important to do something for your business everyday, and that can, and should include personal development for yourself.

In his book "The Slight Edge"  Jeff Olsen talks about keeping things "simple as possible."  If you keep things "easy to do" in your business, your are making it simpler to keep momentum alive. You will be working with the slight edge to your advantage.

But, here again is the key.  Doing something everyday. So what are some simple things that I can  do that will move my business forward?   It could be just writing a short blog post, or perhaps, going to your favorite social networking site and greeting some new friends. Read a paragraph in your favorite motivational book.  Getting on a training call is also a great way to keep yourself close to the fire.

The point is, your actions may seem insignificant to you at the moment. but it is the cumulative effect of little efforts over time that will pay big dividends for your business down the road.

Just ONE positive action towards your goal and dreams, per day, will keep you in the game, and allow you to gain and keep valuable momentum.

Remember, these things are "easy to do, but, also, easy not to do.  The longer you go without doing anything to move your business forward, the harder it will be to start it up again. So....

DO SOMETHING EVERYDAY, to move you closer to where you want to be.

Oh How Right You Are

Absolutley, consistency is the key, give everything a time frame and write it all down. Once commited to paper there is a higher chance of actually getting it done.

Think where the Slight Edge can take us over a year...

Wow, I get excited like a little kid when I think of what the results may be if I continue to do the little things that at the time may seem so tiny, yet over time we can improve our lives by 100%!  Little bit on a consistent bases truly is the key!  Excellant Article Kevin!

To record your actions

Write down what you've done,  as well as what you need to do. That will give you the sense of accomplishment, or tell you to get off the sofa!
