The 80/20 Rule..Fact or Fiction
In my research I have discovered that one can not manage time. We all have 24 hours in a day. 12 hours to mine our own business and 12 hours to leave other people's business alone!!
In this article I want to talk with you about the ways of event management that one can adopt to totally empower yourself with a new found energy and effectiv"eness.
The 80/20 Rule: Fact or Fiction?
When I was younger my father used to say that "I have 24 hours in a day..12 hours to mine my own business and 12 hours to leave other people's business alone."
I really believe that's good advice for all of us who are continually trying to manage our time in the most effective ways possible. After all, you can always get more money..you cannnot get more time.
Which brings us around to the concept that 20 percent of what we do brings in 80 percent of our increase. That's not only in business, it applies to everything else too. Somebody once said that time management is a myth. You can't manage time you can only manage your actions. When we look at it in this way it really does give a kind of relief. Now is it fact or fiction? Let's see...
Managing your actions.
Whether we agree or not, try as hard as you will or may and you will never be able to spend the same amount of time on every activity in your company. There's only so many hours. So you apparently have to look at the activity with a little more discerning eye. If each hour were a marble in a bag that you removed as the hour passed, you theoretically would want to put those marbles where they yield the highest return. THen if your activity is bringing in money or affection from your spouse that is still the most effective use of your time. Hence, that positive outcome brings a return of more marbles.
In a word, focus on the highest income producing actions of the day.
Reading emails, or merely thinking that you "should" spend more time in your relationship is not the best event. Instead there is another area you can focus on as well to be more productive in your day. Those are the events that cause an impact, which by proxy bring in more return. If 20% of what you do brings in the 80 percent then it would be smart to make sure that if your activity isn't a direct exchange of money then it is an activity that leads to the eventual accumulation of money. (or in the case of relationships a show of affection)
Then also, Focus on the highest impact producing actions of the day.
These are the High Notes to Success. The highly successful know what needs to be done - How to get it done - and who to get to do it on their team. They work on their business and less in their business.
They "hire people who play at what you have to work on."
This can be accomplished in various ways such as barter, trade, partnering, joint venturing and employing. Find your passion. If you do what you love you will never work a day in your life. So do what you love and surround yourself with people who love to do the other things.
Basically, all I am saying is consistently do the high income and high impact activities everyday. 1 hour a day of concentrated focus on these things will give you the unfair advantage that you will need to breakthrough to a cash explosion in all areas of your life!

You have it in a nutshell Kevin!
Of course there are things we "must" do but when it comes to your business, no matter what it is, you have to ask yourself this one very important question:
Is the activity that I am doing getting me closer to my goal(s)?
I ask myself that all the time. When I answer honestly, I move forward and gain momentum. Once you start that engine, keep it fueled, keep it going, 'cos it sure is harder to start again.
Quoting Robin Sharma, who I highly recommend, from his book The Greatness Guide: “It’s amazing how far you will get by just staying with something long enough. Most people give up too early. Their fears are bigger than their faith.â€
Best as always
