Starting a Small Home Business Takes Dedication and Commitment!

Many people do not succeed in a home based business. Why? They feel like it was a bad company, bad product or product line, too much competition, or simply they were not good salespeople. Though all of these may have been true, that is not why they failed! They failed because they did not have the dedication and commitment to succeed. Also, anyone starting a small home business needs to understand that they have to sell themselves first before they can sell something else!

When a person gets excited about an idea, company, or product and begins starting a small home business they have enthusiasm. More than likely, the person or company that convinced them, had them believing it was very easy to do. This is not a falsehood or misleading statement, it is simply an incomplete statement. There will always be a learning curve that comes with anything new you venture into. Starting a small home business is no exception. To complete the statement would be to say, 'This is a very easy business as long as you stay organized but most of all it takes real dedication and commitment! I am sure you have been told all your life that if you want something bad enough you will achieve it! This could not be more accurate in all aspects of your life and in business.

So what does dedication and commitment really mean? It means that you set daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly goals. You write them down and post them where you can see them through out the day. You work on them every day, whether it means personal knowledge of your business, personal growth, learning your specific system for success, tapping into your support team, or just getting out there and doing it! There is not a day that goes by in your life where you can't take at least a few minutes to improve yourself or your business. The smallest or overlooked things could make a huge difference in your success as a person or in your business. There will be rejection and trials that will have to be dealt with. How you deal with them will determine your success or failure.

There are many types of people and many different types of personalities. There are glass half empty and glass half full people. There are over confident and under confident people. There are devils advocate and silver linings people. There are risk takers and those that play it safe. So what should we aspire to be? You answer this for yourself, but, I can assure you that if you can't find positives in any given situation, owning a business will be very difficult for you. Being a problem solver is a learned talent. It is not something you are simply born with. Through personal growth, you will amaze yourself with what you will be able to accomplish. The reason I am saying all of this is because to be successful never means how much money you earn or how famous you are! That is meerly status. If you want to be rich, take a look around you and take notice of everything you have that money can not buy. Take a few moments and try to remember as many times as you can when your heart wanted to leap from your chest because you helped another in some way and truely felt their appreciation. If you will learn to approach all aspects of your life, business included, by helping others succeed you will achieve everything you ever wanted. Or society today and our media paint a very different picture. Greed and doing whatever it takes to get ahead has become almost acceptable. You know what the funny thing is? Even if those people aquire all the money and material items they were after, they still are not happy or satisfied. I wonder why!

So if you are looking to find security, extra money, college money or anything else you feel you need, remember that you have to have dedication and commitment to accomplish your dreams. Helping others do the same is my short cut in allowing this to happen. Nothing in life is truly free! The world we live in owes you nothing! You are responsible for yourself and being able to look yourself in the mirror each night and morning. I would not be writing this article if I hadn't found all of this to be true. Surround yourself with like minded people and stay away from the nay sayers because they are wanting to be the "I told you so" people for you later and go make your dreams a reality! Enjoy starting a small home business, and never look back or let anyone take away your goals.
