All of the factors mentioned above hold true, and are in play, However let me make just one tweak!
On the digital comment the words "somehow" is out of place, or out of timming! The breakthroughs in Technology that will effect this industry, every business, and every home, like text messaging did for the cell phone., Is already here, stock piled and ready for release, in stages over the next 12 -24 months. Few know about it, most people are followers anyway, which is cool we all need end users!
To those with vision the land grab is already on, those who get their peice of the pie will be rejoicing, those who sit and wait will be using! So I guess every one wins!!
