'Tis the Season

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas...already. The palm trees on Main Street are wrapped in lights, the stores are alive with decorations, and holiday classics are filling the radio airwaves. The thing is, it doesn't feel like Christmas. It's not just the calendar. It's the fact that we're focused on other activities.

The retailers are banking on the idea that they can increase profits by extending the holiday season indefinitely. They believe you will be motivated to shop for presents before you even buy any Halloween candy. Soon holiday advertisements will be competing with back-to-school sales! Many consumers are likely to see this as blatant greed or desperation.

Here's the important lesson: Motivation does not cause action; it is the effect from taking action. You probably won't be motivated to really begin shopping until you expend some effort...usually putting up your Christmas tree or Menorah does the trick. Your actions, more than external pressures, will motivate you.

Your network marketing company and your business partners have probably been sending you signals that now is the time for you to grow your business. They're right, but they can't motivate you like you can. Convince yourself by taking meaningful action today. Your action steps today, even if they appear small, will motivate you to play more boldly tomorrow.

Don't wait for the calendar, or advertisers, or your company, or anyone, or anything else to motivate you into action.

'Tis always the season to become your brilliance. Act accordingly. Act today.
