Mike & Co -- I have absolutely no idea how you guys do it but now you appearantly have Google falling in love with you too...

Just check this out: About a month ago I posted a video tutorial here on BN...and then, the other day -- as I was about to blast out this same video with Traffic Geyser to get it on all the gazillions video sites out there in order to draw the attention of the search engines -- I went ahead and did a Google search on the particular keyword phrase I wanted to rank for, to see what the competition was like....

....and there I was -- MY VIDEO -- already in the top spot on page 1!! My video, which I had simply put up on one video site (Vimeo) and then linked to from Better Networker....  And it was the Better Networker post that held the #1 spot, not Vimeo!

Granted, there were only about 23 500 search results for that particular keyword phrase, so the competition wasn't especially fierce...BUT --

What I find so fascinating is that I had made no attempt to rank yet with my video...I hadn't even done any keyword research yet...!

I created this how-to video tutorial simply because it was a topic I felt that there wasn't enough information on, and I put it up here on Better Networker in the hope that it could benefit not only my own team members (who are active users of this site) but others in the community as well. I wasn't deliberately trying to rank with Google (yet).

And still I was able to grab that #1 position...and, just as importantly, stay there. (Because as you may or may not know, some poor soul being bumped off the first page on Google -- not to to mention the first position -- well, that happens all the time in the world of SEO. )  But no -- one month later, I still held the top spot.

So think about it....

Think about what you can accomplish with your posts here on Better Networker if you actually DO your keyword research and optimize the headings and desciptions of your blogs/articles/videos....if you actually write with that intent in mind...

If you do that, and you also "ping" your post each and every time you put up some new content....well, I think you can see some pretty incredible results! (For those not familiar with the term, "pinging" is a way of calling out to the search engines to let them know you've created fresh content, so that they'll come "find" you and index you. It literally takes seconds to do -- just go to pingomatic.com and follow the simple steps.)
