Video-marketing is ALSO for the Camera Shy! Here's How...!
Okay. So you know that video-marketing is the new *HOT* thing, and you know you need to ride this wave… BUT -- You're camera shy. You're not a "performer". You simply don't see yourself getting in front of a video camera and start talking. And you know what? That's OKAY! Do you realize that you can do videos where YOU are actually not on-camera? Yes, you can! You can make instructional videos where you teach your viewers how to perform a specific task on the computer -- such as creating a landing page, setting up an auto responder list, using a particular article submission software, researching keywords for blogs and articles. The possibilities are endless. To capture the images of your screen you can use a downloadable software called Camtasia. They even have a free 30-day trial period! Not only will you find that your prospects love "how to" videos, but that the search engines (google, yahoo, msn) do too -- and when the search engines love you, it will boost your rankings, which again will results in more views of your videos, more opt-ins, and more sales -- for YOU! Yeay! Remember, you are a PROBLEM SOLVER. That is your task as a marketer...to solve other people's problems for them. Solving other people's problems is what will make you rich. Seriously. And when you do instructional how-to videos, you are doing just that -- solving other people's problems. So no need to shy away from video marketing just because you don't like being on camera. As you see, you can still do videos -- videos where all people see is your computer screen! And chances are you will find -- as you get used to doing your "how to" videos, and as you get better and better at it -- that you'll eventually become comfortable enough to actually put yourself "on-screen" as well. It's really not that terrifying, I promise. You will survive. ;-) It's just about being yourself, being "real", and sharing valuable, useful information with your viewers. Stop thinking that your videos have to be "perfect". In fact "perfect" is not good because it doesn't feel "real" to people and they'll have a hard time relating to you. So remove the pressure, take a deep breath, and then TAKE ACTION. What about those who are
What about those who are voice shy?
Great question, Joel!
The answer is "practice", as it is with anything in life we don't feel confident about.... The more we do it, the less "awkward" it becomes. In my experience, diving into it, head first, is ultimately the best cure of them all....! Best of luck. :-)
Thanks!
thanks for the tip!
