Why Loving Your MLM Products May Be Clouding Your Judgement And Strangling Your MLM Business


If you’ve been around the network marketing industry for a while then you’ll know that whenever people look at your opportunity they want to evaluate the products first.

Your MLM business teaches you over and over, love your products! You want to fall in love with them. You DO fall in love with them!

Granted, it’s important that your products should be of a very high quality with evidence of a strong market place. However, if your MLM business has been around a while you can almost take it as read they did their market research long before you came along. Your opinion of the products may matter to you, but it won’t make any difference to them, they KNOW they sell!

“Ah yes”, I hear you say, “but unless I am sold myself, how can I sell to others?”  Well that’s certainly true! You do have to be a consumer and lover of the products.

However, here’s the rub. Most people who concentrate on evaluating the products, loving the products, retailing the products are missing the PRIMARY product you are really marketing.

The business opportunity itself!

Now there are hundreds of MLM business’s out there. Representing every conceivable product you can think of and if you want to retail, you can join several of them and retail a huge range of very high quality products and as long as you follow the conventional retail methods, you’ll make a decent income.

Though it will stop the minute you stop. Which begs the question, why did you join an MLM company if all you wanted to do was retail?

In ALL MLM business’s, there is only ONE business opportunity – lifestyle freedom!

Because whichever MLM you join if you are truly committed to building your network marketing team then you will understand that in doing so, one day, ultimately you will create for yourself a sizeable residual income that will fund your dreams.

It doesn’t matter what product your MLM business markets, you have to build a team! And you have to focus on building that team to the exclusivity of everything else. You cannot build TWO (or more) teams across more than one MLM – think about it – you only have ONE product – lifestyle freedom – to offer.  I’ve never heard of anyone successfully building two or more MLM teams across different MLM companies concurrently. Plenty have done it in succession; i.e. build one – leave it – move on to the next and so on. But never at the same time.

So, this is why I am suggesting that loving your MLM products may be clouding your judgement.

If you are serious about evaluating your MLM business, you MUST focus FIRST on the pathway your company offers to the ultimate financial freedom (or significant residual income that matters most to you).

 

In order to do this, you need to look at the whole system your MLM business offer.

1)      The training

2)      The upline support

3)      Automatic ordering

4)      The sign up process

5)      The online marketing system

6)      The commission structure

7)      The competition

8)      The strength and growth of the company

Too many things to go into detail here, however, let me draw your attention to the top three in particular (though all are important).

The training – I don’t mean the ‘product’ training!  I mean are they REALLY showing you how to grow your team? Are the systems they teach really effective and can YOU make them work for you? (given that you may need time to learn – nothing happens overnight )

The upline support – this one is HUGE! Maybe you are one those rare individuals who can do it all by yourself? If you are that’s great! However, two things. First, to do so – IS rare! So congratulations if you are one of those people. Secondly, the MLM business is about duplication! If what you do is truly rare, how you can expect anyone else to think they can duplicate what you are doing?

The key to duplication is keeping it simple. So look to your upline to show you powerful, simple and effective ways that you can a) do yourself – as long as you are committed and consistent and b) you can do the same for those you introduce to your team!

Automatic ordering. This might seem trivial, but if you have to chase your customers every single month for repeat business it’s diverting you from your primary focus, building your team!

So always, always, always keep uppermost in your mind, the ONLY product you have to concentrate on is ‘lifestyle freedom’ (not to the exclusion of the retail products, but as a priority for sure!).  If your MLM business doesn’t let you do this or if the way you are running your MLM business doesn’t let you do this. Then I respectfully suggest you need to take a step back, refocus and think again about what you are doing.
