17 Success Principles {YOU} Need to Succeed
We all want to be successful. Successful with life, business, family, health, just to name a few.
A few weeks ago I started reading Napoleon Hill and W. Clement Stone's book: Success Through a Positive Mental Attitude.
The main premise is in the title.
In order to be successful you must be the master at having a Positive Mental Attitude (PMA).
The authors state that "PMA is the catalyst which makes any combination of success principles work to attain a worthwhile end. "
Conversely it is a Negative Mental Attitude (NMA) that "...combined with some of the same principles, that is the catalyst which results in crime or evil."
Hill and Stone studied hundreds of successful people and their experiences.
This is how the 17 Success Principles came about.
Here they are:
17 Success Principles
- Positive Mental Attitude
- Definiteness of purpose
- Going the extra mile
- Accurate thinking
- Self-discipline
- The master mind
- Applied faith
- A pleasing personality
- Personal initiative
- Enthusiasm
- Controlled attention
- Teamwork
- Learning from defeat
- Creative vision
- Budgeting time and money
- Maintaining sound physical and mental health
- Using cosmic habit force (universal law)
You may be like me and read the list for the first time and wonder:
- Where do I start?
- How do I apply this to my life?
And, what the heck is 'cosmic habit force' ?
The following posts will be about each success principle; the first one being: positive mental attitude.
I will go more in depth on how to apply these to your life.

That is an excellent book
I'm going to look forward to the continuation here as we all need to learn or all need to be reminded of what we need to do every day ! Thanks.
Joyce
Thank you
Joyce, I appreciate that. I agree. I know that I have to remind myself everyday to have a Positive Mental Attitude. It definitely takes some practice and repetition. Thanks for the comment.
