Seven Reasons Why Its Time To Ditch Your Corporate Job and Work For Yourself

Why would someone decide to quit a high paying corporate job that pays well?Find out why with the seven reasons why you don’t have to tolerate the negative aspects of a corporate job anymore.

‘Ahh my precious’

What’s as precious as life itself that you can never hold in your hands or get back?

Time.

There are times in a person’s career where there seems no balance between life and work. The demands of your job become so great you feel like you live at work. You start to get used to missing important events and by the time Friday comes along at the end of each week your exhausted. Months and unfortunately years can go by like this for some people. An online business means more control to you to manage your time between your business and your life. This means your family, friends and hobbies don’t have to be put on hold for your job.

The tribal council has spoken….

Whether you agree or not you belong to a tribe. We are do, humans seek out people that are similar to them, their values, likes and dislikes. You may have been taught from an early age that a corporate job is a way of defining a successful life.  A corporate job can provide;  a fulfilling career, a better financial future and job security. Working for yourself can mean becoming more of a solo act at time in comparison of some corporate jobs but there are plenty of network groups you can join and what’s exciting? You get to create your own unique brand that creates a tribe.

Employee- no leverage

You are expected to be committed, focused, disciplined and engaged as a corporate employee and above all loyal. You may have a PA for certain roles but for others, there is no additional support i.e. team members that is provided by your company to help you delegate your work to them to complete. A great aspect about owning your own online business if build leverage within your business by creating landing pages, auto responders and a personal assistant to help you making calls to prospects. You are in a position to create more leverage in your work at home business allowing your to work smarter not harder.

‘Rec Leave…what’s that?’

The demands and expectations of customers are continually becoming greater requiring companies to operate longer hours. For a company with international clients it’s expected to be available in some way around the clock.  You may work very hard and perform consistently well but it can also mean its not easy to have time off until it meets the business needs. But this can mean your told no at the most festive times of the year.  Owning your own business allows you to balance your work more effectively and take off time when you and your family need the most without explaining or having to justify your reason to anyone.

Outsourcing

Outsourcing for most companies is quite common these days . Its an unfair imbalance, a role can be done cheaper by a third party so a job is taken away from one person and given to another from a different company. When you own your own business, outsourcing has a more appropriate balance because outsourcing a task means you delegate one of your tasks that frees up your time to do other important tasks while someone else gets paid work. It’s a win/win situation with no one losing his or her job.

It’s all about productivity.

Its very common now for companies to downsize their employees and expect the other employees to absorb the work. This constant pressure contributes to a lack of rec leave, stress and long hours. An online business allows you to determine the pace and that’s why building leverage in your business is so important, it allows you to be productive without completing a 70 hours week.

“It was a management decision to…”

Change is inevitable whether it’s a corporate job or an online business. A corporate job give you no control or power at times to make the decision that’s right for you. Decisions that relate to job cuts, mergers, restructures and relocations can impact your life severely.

An online business does mean you are totally responsible for the decisions you make and for some people they would not want to make these type of decision but fir online entrepreneurs its fine. As an online entrepreneur its important to have a network of successful entrepreneurs and people you can rely on for support in times when you do have hard decisions to make.

In summary, majority of people in corporate role work very hard, they build business skills and experiences over time and I think that is too good to waste on others. Becoming an online business owner means you use the skills you have learnt either through education or experience and you can balance your work with other parts of your life.
