What If Everything You Were Ever Taught Was Wrong
I am continuously disgusted and saddened by the techniques taught today in network marketing that flat out do not work. These methods have proven themselves over and over to assure failure.
Over the course of the next several weeks I'm going to be discussing the top 8 techniques to create a floundering home based business, and why they don't work, and then I'll discuss the 5 components that must exist to generate a highly successful, 6-figure business.
I believe 100% without doubt that the home based business is one of the greatest entrepreneurial opportunities available today, but I am convinced that people involved with a home business fail not because they are stupid or lazy, but because home-business training and education is of pathetically low-quality. I also believe that if home business owners received the training and education they needed and deserved, that 90% plus failure rate would change to a 90% plus success rate.
I am here to assist you on that journey, and today we discuss mistake 1.
Making a List of Your Friends and Family.
Companies love to teach you to do this. Why? Well, they know from statistics that there is approximately an 86% dropout rate after 60-90 days. If they have say 100,000 associates and everyone builds a "list" of say at least 100 people, the company keeps growing. What does this do for your business? You probably added 1 or 2 associates and got a check for $5.86.
The company and the "big dogs" are playing the averages. Most associates will only bring in 2-3 reps in their lifetime with the company. Of course, those numbers won't work too well for you, the new rep just starting out, but it will work just fine for those who already have a massive downline.
The reason is simple. Your family and friends are not looking to join your business-your opportunity of a lifetime-unless your name is Bill Gates. When you've proven that you are capable of starting and building a highly successful business from home, then that's another matter. At that time, those friends and family will probably be knocking down your door to join you.
This technique also leads most network marketers to become completely ostracized by their friends and family. It is this strategy that will ruin more relationships in a faster amount of time that you believed possible.
My advice to you is to leave your friends and family alone. They are not your prospects.
Instead learn real proven prospecting techniques that will have you speaking to people who are already interested in what you're marketing.
Wouldn't that be better than having to market to your friends and family?
In the next issue I'll be discussing mistake 2.
Here's a hint: Avoiding this mistake will save you lot's of cash!
