Spammers Beware: I am Mean

I don't know if it because I'm South American or if it's because I consumer pepper (not hot sauce) on a daily bases but, don't let the pretty smile fool you guys... I am not one to sugar coat anything.

 I see some flowery posts about how others prefer to handle the community killing virus called spam and they don't accurately reflect how I feel about it.

This post is to notify all current and would be spammers what they can expect from me personally when I am send private messages and guestbook spam. So, before you hit that paste button be forewarned... The cookie cutter response I have for your cookie cutter messages is as follows:

"[Insert Spammers Name Here],

Do not ever spam me again. I will block and report you to the community admin without hesitation if it happens again. My other freinds you are spamming will do the same. I've seen too many well meaning sites go to the dogs entertaining your behavior and it will not be tolerated.

NOT on my watch.

For training visit the forums or just play 'follow the leader' of the those who have influence in the community."

I am very protective of the people I care about and the things that are inportant to me. My real friends and even family are members of this community and that makes it very important that it remains a safe space to learn and grow.

Now, is that to say someone can't make a mistake? Not at all. But, to me a mistake is choosing a bad article topic or posting in the opportunity section not spamming on my guest book or private messages.

If this post is making you feel bad then it must mean you have been the culprit and that it not my problem it's yours. If you are wondering if I'm talking to you then the shoe must fit.

Don't Worry There Is Help!

There are plenty really awesome leaders here that will try, even in vain, to school you on the betternetworker way. I commend you guys, please keep up the good work!

Some will even tell you it is not your fault. They are happy to take you under their wing but, that is not me. It's your responsibility to conduct yourself in a professional manner not mine to coddle your feelings after you make the offense.

You Spamming Me Gives Me Full Permission To Let 'er Rip!

So you better pray I'm just not in the mood that day.

How lame is it to get a message you think is personalized by your new friend only to find out they posted the same thing on a 100 other guest books too? Here I am feeling all special like we really connected to then feel like I'm just a part of your number game... a stroke on the wall for your daily spam quota.

Hopefully you ran into the people who have a higher tolerance and more patience for stuff like that... I am not the one.

If you must promote get some "cojones" and do it in public where people can decide if they want to read it or not, vote it thumbs up or down, flame you or not... don't insult my intelligence by sending it in private as if you're making a genuine connection.
