what are we here for?

Today is the first day that I have really gotten into using BN.  I re-read MS last night and it was like something just clicked.  I got up this morning and have been online ever since, making connections.  I eagerly checked my prospects at MS and although I have none, I am ever optimistic.  But I realized something as I was sitting in my 5:30-8pm Abnormal psych class..I was so excited to get home and get back online! But then I started to think about networking..In all the connections I have made in just one day, what is it they are really looking for? Are people really connecting with me because they like what they see, or are they all rushing at the chance to try and sell another person? It is like most people in a conversation.  The person who isn't talk is not listening to you intently, they are waiting for you to shut up so it is their turn to talk.  All this networking I have done today, but is that what people are motivated by? Do they really want to be my friend because they want to connect, or do they put on the illusion of being my friend just so they can try and sell me their opp? Interesting thought.  I hope that no one here is using that tactic, but if you are, you should truely consider your motive for trying to make friends.  We can all learn something from each other, even if you think you already know everything there is to know.  As Mike points out, he still continues to learn all the time about how to make his business better!

What are we here for

Amanda,

Good points.  Trying to sell someone doesn't work, that is what is usually wrong with most networkers.  They only think of themselves and getting the quick buck (registration).  In my opinion, the point of building with attraction marketing is to purposely become friends FIRST and provide value to others.  In the end if a sale occurs or the other person finds interest in what your opportunity is then that is a nice added bonus.

To your success,

Steve

What are we here for

The problem with any business is that not everyone is in the game for the same reasons. The bad thing is that when something negative happens in this business, the WHOLE industry takes the hit. You can usually tell when someone is just in it for the quick buck, esp. with your background of dealing with the public.

Hopefully you remember what you went thru when you hit it big in this industry, and u become what you wanted to find when you first joined this site. GOOD LUCK!!
