Captain George Aiton's Log of 12 day trip after using MAX GXL for 3 days!!!!!!!!!

Day 1 commute from Seattle to Detroit

Leave Seattle at 22:10 on October 14th

Day 2

Arrive in Detroit 05:30 on October 15th

Depart on flight 25 Detroit to Narita Japan at 14:30 on Sunday the 15th

Arrive Narita Japan at 16:30 on the 16th of October.

After arriving in Japan usually I feel like a hang over but this evening I feel good enoughto walk down the street and have dinner. Went to bed around 21:30, awoke around 04:30 did some reading and research until 12:00. Usually the first day in Japan I feel very sluggish, today I feel good enough to concentrate on my work.

Day 4 October 17th is a flight from Narita Japan to Hong Kong.Arrive in Hong Kong at 12 midnight. Went to sleep at 2am. No nap this day and wasable to really focus right up until I went to sleep.

Day 5 day off in Hong Kong. Got up at 10:30am and feel good. Took my 3 tabs and felt great. Normally this time in my trip my focus is starting to wane, but am able to focus like a lazar beam.

Day 6 up at 02:30am worked until wake up at 05:15am

Fly flight 2 HKG to NRT

Went to bed at 10:00pm

Day 7 woke up at 6:00am

Concentration starting to wane

Worked from NRT to MSP

Day 8 Got in to MSP and starting to feel better after short nap

I am starting to feel tired on the trip but not the usual fatigue.

Day 9 MSP back to NRT slept GOOD on the flight during my break vary alert on the leg

Day 10 up at 6am getting ready to go back to MSP Flew NRT MSP was up for over 24 hours and felt OK

Day 11 flew MSP to NRT slept until 10:30 am. I have noticed that my sleep is much sounder than before. When I wake up I do not have that hang-over feeling that I had before. Normally when I wake up on the road I feel like a hangover. This is due to the fatigue from jumping so many time zones.

NRT – DTW was a very long day as I got up at 7am in Japan and left Narita at 4pm on

flight 12. Upon arrival in Detroit at 14:30 I had to wait until 19:30 for my flight home to Seattle. Arriving in Seattle at 22:00 made it about a 30 hour day.

The day after my 12 day trip. I got up at 6:30 and came down and feel like putting in a full days work.

Conclusion:

After my 12 day trip and 6 crossings of the Pacific Ocean in a 747, it normally takes up to 5 days to recover. Using MAX GXL I have reduced my recovery time to a mere 36 hours. I came home at 10:00 pm on the 12th day and went to bed and slept until the next morning. That next day I did very little. Went to bed that evening about 9:00 pm and awoke the next day fully rested and ready to put in a full days work. I have not had a lapse of fatigue in the several days at home.

Some facts of the 12 day trip;

1. 6 trips across the Pacific Ocean.

2. In 12 days I got 9 full nights rest, 3 of those days I was up for over 24 hours

3. Over 80 time zones in 12 days

4. I lost 8 pounds within the 12 day trip.

5. In the 12 days on the road I was tired but not the fatigue I normally have had in the past 15 years of flying international trips.
