HELP!! I've fallen and I can't get up!
Help.. I feel like I am missing something crucial. Is network marketing what people really want or need or are they looking to us to create the need. I have a rough idea of what I have invested in the last 2 weeks. I realize that isn't very long to feel like I am getting nowhere but, I am over whelmed with all the ads that I have been surfing through via my page exchanges and information overload. I can't seem to walk away from my laptop though, because If I'm not clicking through those pages mine won't be seen.

Information overload
Hi Kim
I am not sure what you mean when you ask "Is network marketing what people really want or need or are they looking to us to create the need. "
Some people really do want and need Network Marketing. I am one of those. I want the lifestyle it can offer as well as the personal development opportunities. I also want the residual income, but I know it takes a while for that to kick in.
As for creating a need. Well I think the Ecomomic crisis we are all in (globally, I mean) has created the need for many people to find financial security and/or earn an extra $1000- $5000 per month. this is also a need, and its a huge one. There are 10 million people out of work in the USA alone!
As for feeling like you are getting nowhere, you need to define what it is you want to achieve in what period of time. Then you can see if you are making progress....two weeks is way to short to do this. 90 day goals are usually good things to do- not to far away in the furure and yet enough time to achive something.
Information overload is a thing you need to guard against. It can overwhelm and distract you. I dont quite know what you meann by "I can't seem to walk away from my laptop though, because If I'm not clicking through those pages mine won't be seen. "
Of course you need to work, but use your time constructively. Aimlessly clicking through ads (are you talking about a traffic exchange?) is not really going to serve you.
What you need is a roadmap and a step by step plan to get you on your feet again. Go an look around for a course that can show you what to do from scratch. Mike Klingler's Renegade University is fantastic to help with focus and internet attraction marketing training.
In the meantime check out an article I wrote on overwhelm and information overload that seems to be helping my students.
Good luck. (And keep on asking!)
