How to make your blog post writing process more easy and fun

When blogging is your main strategy to build a home based business, the blog post writing process is an important part of your business schedule.

Thys, you set time for it, collect multiple blog post ideas into a notebook or notepad file and finally pick up the topic.

All is in place, yet something “stinks”.

A lot of time spent on writing, you force yourself to write few more lines, over-editing or you let the post aside for the popular ” I need to get more info first”.

More, your body is stuck in the chair and the energy level seems to go like a rollercoaster.

How can you make the blog post writing process more enjoyable?

Well, I had some days when writing was not fun (my ego didn’t like the show at all) and a single post took me even 4-5 hours… Yet, with more practice and introspection I managed to improve my results considerably.

Thus, here are 7 tips I use to find more joy in blog post writing.

1. Check your emotional state and your posture

It’s easy to fall into a negative state when sitting a lot at your computer. As you “force” yourself to write, the negative pattern becomes more intense.

Before you create a new post, relax, breathe deeply and make sure you’re not too tired, angry or anxious. If this is the case, take a break, a nap…heck, anything that makes you feel better and come back later.

Also, the emotions are affected by your physiology so it’s important to keep a relaxed and confident body posture.

From time to time you can have a stretching session(2-3 min) for more energy.

2. Have all your info prepared

I use to jot down in a notebook first the title of the post and the main ideas I want to offer to my readership. With this mini blueprint I’m not tempted so much to open a new window and blog post writing flows easier.

Search for info, read everything you need to know in advance so you can be fully involved in your task.

3. Smile

But Radu, people can’t see if I’m smiling or not.

You’re right but they will always feel it.

Your vibration flows through every word you type. Smilling changes your mood instantly and let happiness/ creativity come in.

My best posts with the most social media buzz and comments were wrote in a positive mood.

4. Use those draft posts

Blogging it’s like painting. Did you notice that an artist, even if he/she has a clear idea in mind will play a little with canvas..just putting few colors here and there.

The same happens with blog post writing: open few drafts and put the seeds(ideas) there even if they won’t generate a new post. It’s just warming up.

You can use them other time as a starting point.

5. Don’t overload the post

Keep it simple! I was so confused sometimes due to the great amount or complexity of the info. If it’s hard for you to digest imagine how it will be for your readers.

Offer few ideas easy to apply into a clear and accessible way( short sentences/paragraphs or lists, no complicated words).

Take a look at Seth Godin. His short posts always have a great impact.

There are exceptions of course: a pillar post for example.

6. Improvise

Don’t be afraid to do it. Although there are so many blogging rules and tips out there, you are a unique human being!

Test new ways to deliver the info, the impact of your words, call to action etc. You’ll be like a child playing with his toys.

7. Use stories/examples/ analogies

Blog post writing and reading tends to get very boring without a “spark of joy”.

Even if you talk about blogging, MLM, social media etc seek to add more color: a personal story/ failure or one from somebody else(without attacking the person) or a good analogy. They always seem to bring more authenticity and a postitive vibe.

These are the tips I use to make the blog post writing process more attractive. The more you have fun with it, the better the results.
