DO YOU LOVE WHAT YOU DO?
I was just sitting here at my desk finishing up on a new presentation piece when I sat back in my chair and said, "I LOVE WHAT I DO!!" And it got me thinking..."Does everybody else love what they do as much as I do?" I surely hope so because I believe that is one of the main reasons I have found so much success. I believe when you LOVE what you do it is reflected in your voice, in how you talk to people...it reflects in everything you do in your life and in your business! Let me ask you, "If you didn't get paid at all for what you are doing, would you still do it? Do you love it that much?" If your answer is "YES" then you are in the right place! If you are doing it just to try to make a big buck...lack of LOVE for what you do may be the reason you are not seeing success! I know, I know...no one loves every part of what they do...but do you love it overall enough to push yourself to learn what you need to learn to get better at or find the joy in the things you don't really love to do? In our industry it's all about LOVE OF BUILDING...building ourselves, building our skills, building up other people on our teams, building our companies....So do you LOVE what you are doing? Why?

Love is a many splendored thing...
I'm surprised that I didn't get many comments on the last post, especially because those who choose to spend a great deal of time here are very PASSIONATE about what we do! But, hey, it may take a little while. And that is a key philosophy of someone who is committed to whatever they do! I was watching Michael Phelps tonight (so glad he hit his goal--8 GOLD MEDALS!!) and I was thinking, now there is a guy who demonstrates love for what he does! And there are many reasons that I'm sure he loves what he does. Love of the water, love of the technique building, love of challenging himself...And then I got to thinking..I only can imagine how many hours and years he has invested---to reach this day! The most important thing is to do what you love, stay committed to the dream and eventually the GOLD MEDAL DAY WILL ARRIVE! I also bet Michael Phelps wouldn't trade who he became along the way for the medal!! That will be the topic of my next post! What are your thoughts?
Michael Phelps...so much to learn from him...
Do all of you remember Michael Phelps in Athens? Do you remember how GREAT we thought he was there? Well, I remember it well and I remember thinking to myself...no one will be able to TOP him! Little did I know 4 years later he would be topping himself (and ofhers) 7 or 8 times over! I wonder if Michael Phelps thought about leaving behind his sport after Athens? No one would have begrudged him if he did...in fact just winning one anyone could have said that he had achieved his goal. But what took Michael Phelps back to the pool 8 hours a day for four more years? LOVE! Love of the thrill of victory, love of the success? I don't know...but...what about the love of a challenge? I heard him on a recent interview say that he still had more to do in the sport and that he would be going home to plan for the next Olympics. Now that is 4 more years of dedication to get to the next level. Now wouldn't it be great to just to walk in Michael Phelps shoes for one whole day? To see the discipline? To understand the diet? To feel the frustration of not besting the last time by a little bit more after another 3 months of work??? How many of us can say that we love what we do that much? Again, I ask you? Do you love what you do enough to push yourself to get to MEDAL DAY? Tell me ...what keeps you going?
Well, what keeps me going is
Well, what keeps me going is DESIRE!! The desire to assist people, to do more for my family, to contribute to the greater good and to see people create the life they can't wait to live! Yes, I LOVE MY LIFE and that's where everyone's love story begins....So again, what keeps you going?
Glad there another one of us
Thanks, Pam, for expressing yourself so well. It's important to love what you do to stay motivated. On bad days it gives you a reason to get involved in life. On good days it just makes everything better. It took me over 40 years on just doing before I found something I love to do - or I think it found me :)
