What you did from failure to earning enough money to say yes I'm a success
On this board that I sometimes network on, there is this one person who I've seen post several times over the last year or two and always post about how bad his life is and why he can't seem to move forward in anything he does, business included. Over the years as I see others on the board give him advice, he will always come back with a reason WHY he can't do what they suggest..Today he posts yet another message asking what others did to create success in their business and I'm surprised, or maybe not so considering the energy that's normal on this board, I'm surprised no one is yet "listening" to his question. ."I'm not shopping for another company ....I know I need to take baby steps to succeed and a positive state of mind or it could be when you join programs you could be overwhelmed by their steps to succeed. Now this isn't just about me,,,it's more about you. How did you bust through failure and gain real success.".Am I out in left field here from what I "heard" or is THIS the big what's missing in this industry?! .Listening skills that is!.He asked "I'm sure again there's people on (this board) that have endured the same situations I've been through but had more tack and flew below the radar because they didn't want negative comments..I would be honored at your replies and I'm sure there are dozens others that think the same thing but aren't either stupid like I am and admit failure but are too stubborn to give up..Your replies will help a lot of people that frequent this board. Now please don't go down the same road others have and come back with the same generic answer-work the plan , make a list of at least 50 people you know, have a home party or buy a billion leads. What I want to know is exactly what you did from failure to earning enough money to say yes I'm a success.".And the replies so far include: (A)Generate leads...your own..don't buy them...show them what they need to see...allow them to make an educated informed decision...collect the decision then show them how to do the same....wash, rinse, repeat...this is the most duplicable system you ever will see....(B)Treat your business like a REAL business. That means putting money and time into it. Which also means buying leads if you're not going to make 'the' list of all your friends and family. You can also generate your own leads online and that takes a lot of time and consistent efforts. I know because I've done it for the last eleven years online..I'm shaking my head here!.Why would you tell someone who can't see past their own obstacles, fears, rejection of self to go generate more leads?.Makes me think of the training I received for so many years from my upline when I would say that something wasn't working, she would always tell us that was because were weren't doing it enough and we needed to do more! .I really don't want to say how many thousands of dollars I spent on buying and/or generating my own leads before I realized that no matter how many I bought or generated, I just didn't have the knowlege or skills or even the confidence to talk to these leads and even if I did "convince" someone to join my team, I didn't have any idea what I was going to do with them after that because I didn't have a "system" either.."It's a numbers game". "Law of averages". "The more you step outside your comfort zone, the better you'll get at it". "Practice makes perfect"..Ever heard that?.I do know that the folks who responded do mean well and speak from their heart and I do appreciate them for that but, the more I learn, the more I read, the more I listen, the more I see, the more I am coming to the conclusion that in this industry, too often "the blind really is leading the blind". I know I was..Could that be what this 97% attrition rate is all about?.Although my upline always told me to just do more and although I know she meant well, I know now that wasn't the right answer. The one thing she did teach me though that I know now was right was to keep reading and listening to information that would help me grow on a personal and professional level..She taught me to go outside of her training and to learn from others as well. And when I realized I was "blind", I took some time off from "doing more" so that I could "learn more" and develop the skills I realized were missing. Today I see the world through a whole different pair of colored glasses..Below is my response to this persons post and I ask you.......Am I out in left field on this? Or, does this make sense?.Karen Umstattd----------------------------------------------------------
I just started reading something I recently purchased titled
The Holy Grail Of Network Marketing
It's a book and audio collection by Mark Yarnell and I'm only on the first volume, only through a couple chapters and already I'm asking myself "what kind of promotion can I run to get this into the hands of my downline?'
I would like to leave you with a couple of quotes I've already read in the book and then recommend that you consider purchasing this. You ask exactly what it is I did to go from failure to earning enough money to say YES, I'm a success?
This is exactly it. THIS is MY secret!

Einstein was a great believer in the theory that 90% of the solution to any problem consists in awareness of the problem. We believe a similar theory: namely, that 10% of success in Networking consists in the choice to participate in our field. The other 90% consists in learning about and capitalizing on some fundamental secrets.
Here's the first two for you:
Secret Number One:
Secret number one is simple, but not obvious. To become a Rich Networker you must choose to avoid amateur activites. Why? Professionals get paid. Amateurs do not.
Networkers get paid to do two things: sell products and recruit people. Period
Secret Number Two:
Secret number two: Rich Networker work harder than poor networkers - at least two hours a day.
Rich Networkers were once Poor Networkers who grew unwilling to settle for mediocrity and decided to make those sacrifices necessary to rise to their fullest potential
