Is Education Still as Important Even in Today's Economy ?

Summary: In March 2004 the unemployed with a college degree reached 1.17 Million people. Today the unemployed college graduates are close to 5 Million people. The question still remains, Is an education important in today's economy ? What are the alternative for the continued rise in unemployment and jobless victims ?

We spend many years pursuing our dreams in education and educating ourselves to have a better life style and create a better future for ourselves and our families. I still believe that education is extremely important.

Today it seems that even with a great education many people find themselves not finding employment and still having school loans to pay. It is not a great position to be in and very stressful to say the least. Some are resorting to an education on starting a home business and working from home.

According to statistics, college graduates and economists that are following our countries possible future they forecast that it is only going to get worst before it gets better.

As many students begin applying for the 2010 academic school year, students are looking at an economic climate where endowments are hit, student loans are more restrictive, and parents have seen 529 plans sink along side their retirement plans.

The upcoming school year will be highly competitive and expensive but will it be worth it? Now college itself isn’t a direct link to a career and many bristle when they hear about vocational training. Yet when someone is paying $50,000 a year, you have to ask what exactly you are paying for.

So the question is, What are we to do about this and how can we become employed or be able to earn a living to cover our expenses and pay back our school loans or create a secured financial future for ourselves ?

What I found was astonishing information being that I was part of the labor force and seen my JOB ( Just Over Broke ) in jeopardy as well, I discovered that many people with education or not were moving into the world of the world wide web ( The Internet ).

There are more millionaires being create now than any other time in our history thanks to the Internet and the opportunities available to us. And more importantly, there millions of people looking for ways to make a living online and many of them have discovered a new and better way to make a living.

But this is not as easy as it seems because the unfortunate thing is that there is a lot of scams on the Internet that are taking advantage of people and a lot of people are loosing their savings and retirement funds trying to start a business online. It is sad but true.

How do I know this ? I have been a victim many times and because I had been fortunate to be employed and be able to use my money wisely I stuck with my dream, desires and goals to become self employed. I wanted to have the freedom to do what ever I wanted when I wanted and work a fraction of the time of working a 9 to 5 JOB that I dreaded to go to every day.

So getting back to " Education ", I still believe it is very important but not as effective in providing the right training, tools, resources and support to have a stable financial future today. You need an education that you can use now and in the future so you can enjoy long term security in your life and not have to worry about being laid off from your JOB.

Another important thing I should add here is that, If you don't have an Internet Presence and a Brand Online today you are dead in the water before you even start. Most business will not tell you this but this is the foundation to any trying to do business online.
