This is to tell you more about us. We have been married for almost ten years this Oct. My wife and I meet by her dialing the wrong number. My wife lived in OR. at the time and I lived in GA. About a year in half, before she dialed the wrong number I also lived in OR, same town, but we never met. We worked across the street from each other for two years. My family met her in person before I did. She moved to GA and we where married about a year later. Well there is the history on how we meet.
We left GA and moved to FL, where we are still living and we love it here. I truly believe God put us here in FL. We bought a house in 2002 and were loving life. There was just myself and my wife and our two dachshund BJ and Humphrey and waiting for our third Madison, BJ’s daughter and our bird Fred. Our house is four bedrooms and two bathrooms. A lot of house for just us. My wife said it would be a better resale later. We now believe God had plans for our house and it was not to rescue dachshund, which we got another one from an animal shelter. They were going to put her down. We said no and then we got Zoë, now we have four dogs. Then our life changed forever in 2005.
My wife was on her way to work and she got a call from a neighbor. She was a teacher at one of the local schools. She told my wife about four little kids that had no place to live and the school was trying to help. The state had taken them from their mother and they were placed with their dad. Shortly after he got the kids, he lost his house so he had to turn the kids back over to the state until he could get a place. She asked if we could take the oldest boy age 9 my wife and I said yes. Then we got a call that someone was going to take all of them to keep them together that was good. About a month later, she called again and said the people could not handle it because they three of there own and it was too much... Therefore, she asked if we could take the older boy and his sister. Our neighbor took the youngest boy and another teacher took the other little boy. Therefore, in late March after all the background checks were done, we had a 9-year-old boy and a 6-year-old girl. We went from us and 4 dogs and bird to having two children added. What a change in our life but it did not end there by July of 2005 we had all four kids from the ages of 4 to 9. Our life would change forever. We are not foster parents so we did not we receive much assistance from the state in the form of money that was up to us. We received medical for the kids and free breakfast and lunch at school, also help with after school care which we were grateful for.

We took the kids on a Disney cruise and we all had a lot of fun. Then in August of 2006 we got my wife’s great nephew. That we are adopting now, he was nine . That is right if you do the math we went for have just four dogs and a bird to having five kids in less then two years from the ages 5 to 10. WOW! Our plan was to adopt all five but that did not happen. After having the four kids for sixteen months, the dad came back after having no contact with the kids in sixteen months and wanted them back. We wanted what the kids wanted. At first we had a hard time then knew the kids wanted was to be with their dad. They went to live with their dad in June of 2007. They are still in our lives, we have built a good relationship with the dad and we can have them whenever we want. We have them and their dad over for the holiday, he is not big on the holidays. We want them to have great memories of the holidays that they can share with their kids someday. Here is some more math for you.

In August of 2007, we lost our beloved BJ, which we took hard and so did the kids, he was their favorite. We decide to look at getting another dachshund, we are used to having four, so we went and picked out a new puppy. We had are hearts set on a black and tan, that is what BJ was. We knew we could ever replace BJ. When we got there this little puppy that was so cute, but he was not black and tan, he was a long hair. The we one picked would not be ready to go for three weeks, the lady told us the long hair was ready to go now. .When my wife went back three weeks later to pick up our puppy, that’s right the long hair was still there and the lady said he really gets existed when he sees you. Therefore, my wife called me and asked if we could have the long haired one too I told her yes. We named them Beau and Jake after BJ. So now, the math is five dogs and one kid. We just recently lost are bird my wife had for 19 years.
