I don't think the U.S. is ready for the mobile marketing technology. American Idol gets it some what, but they haven't even scratched the surface as far as its potential. Thats ok though. Everyone needs a chance to touch, feel, and smell something before it registers.

Let's talk about internet marketing for a moment. Very powerful a couple of years ago and still powerful if you have an audience that already knows you and is interested in hearing what you have to say. I receive about 110 emails every day. This does not include the emails that my Spam Guards intercept. I don't have time to read every email so here is what I do. I concentrate on the emails that have intriguing subjects and the emails from people I recognize. To put it bluntly, I delete about 95% of the emails I receive. It is just individuals out there fishing and trying to sell me something I have no use for. Does this sound like your daily routine in the email and internet arena?

Let's take a look at the other side of the coin.....Mobile Marketing. I have a blackberry that rests in a holster. I don't have the option when I take the blackberry out of the holster. All text messages are in front of my face with no spam filter. Here is the benefit to me on that. I am not getting spammed. I have "opted in" to receive coupons and discounts from my favorite golf courses, restaurants, and places I shop. I don't know about you, but I love coupons. They get me excited to go to that business. I wish we were up there when it comes to getting it though. We claim to be the world leaders, but I don't think we are when it comes to technology. For example, Century 21 Insurance just came over to U.S. and purchased the rights to utilize mobile marketing in 3 countries. They get it!!! What are the comparisons between internet marketing and mobile marketing? Lets take a look.
