Do you think the truth can set you free?

Reflecting on what "truth" is and I remember in sunday school years ago that truth is something that can not be changed. Lies can be changed in fact you have to tell one more lie to cover the other but I am not going to write about lies but the truth and why it should set us free. How many times have you heard the truth and you did not like it? I can say for myself, countless times. I think of the movie "A Few Good Men" and Jack Nicholson says "you can't handle the truth" and how true that is. The truth is hard to swallow, especially when we think we have done nothing wrong. I have to say the truth is not pleasant majority of the time. I think how I have lashed back when it was spoke to me and I really needed to hear the bit of truth. All that was upsetting me was my pride being attacked, my comfort level being pushed. But in all reality when the truth is spoke to us, if we would embrace it just think of the freedom we would experience. Sometimes we don't realize the mess we are in and when it is pointed out to us we have two choices...

1) Embrace it- will set us free 2) Denounce it- live in this prison that we have made by our pride. Which we think is great and nothing is wrong.

This may sound strange but you have to be careful with what someone says is the "truth".  Hold the truth up to logic and see if it fits together like a hand in a glove.  If it doesn't, question it.

Example:  Every now and again you will hear your lack of success is not your fault.  Logically you must ask yourself - who's fault is it then?  The mailmans? If it's the companies fault or the product or the comp plan or the timing then you are not taking responsibility for your own actions.  To become a true leader of a large organization you must take responsibilty for everything you do, say and think.  The blame game is not going to get you to where you want and deserve to be.

To your success,
