Are you building your pyramid?
Please do not take the title out of context. I have found that the word
"pyramid" associated to networking in any way, shape, or form has been
a very negative association. Most people today work for a company that
has a business model similar to a pyramid. Your CEO or President is
perched on top of his board of directors, which assigns tasks to
managers who follow the work flow through to their employees. This is a
crude example, but enough to understand that hierarchy plays a major
role in most business models.
When approaching people about my
business opportunity the first thing I usually hear is; "so is this
like a pyramid scheme?", followed by; "I don't want anything to do with
that." What that person probably didn't already know is that they are
most likely in a pyramid right now, and probably near the bottom for
that matter. If it's the shape that you don't like, fine, but I am so
happy that I have always been open minded and willing to think outside
the box. Moving up in the world at your day job can be a very difficult
task. Often there are many limitations and your personal efforts can go
unnoticed. In networking, everyone starts at square one. You determine
your success based on how hard you are willing to work.
I believe network marketing to be one of the purest business forms of
all. People helping and sharing with other people. Now, I build
relationships with other like minded individuals and grow together
creatively to build our networks as a team! I don't know if I consider
this work... Work was never this much fun!
Cheers!

Great minds
I am often frustrated when I hear that repsonse.."is this like a pryamid thingie?" So much so, that I've often resorted to saying "No, it's not like one...it is one..." then going back to the presentation. I've realized that no matter how I try to wrap up the opportunity SOME WILL, SOME WON'T etc...
Thanks for the encouragement, and for letting me know that others face the same challenges that I do.
