Hunting versus Hunted
I've been cruising this site for a while now and came across a post about facebook that is really haunting me so instead of hassling them I"d thought I'd blog it.
There is a lot of discussion about finding leads, buying leads, phoning leads, hassling leads and it got me thinking that a lot of people really need to re-read Magnetic Sponsoring or else I got the whole thing completely wrong.
Here's an analogy:
You're going deer hunting. You go to the forest because that's where the deers are supposed to be. You can't find one and you're getting really antsy about it. Then you think you see one. Instead of being patient and waiting for a good shot you start firing indiscriminantly and take out a few rabbits, a mother duckling on her way to the market, a beaver who was busy making his dam and didn't want to be disturbed and a whole heap of wildlife just going about their business.
Good on ya!
Now, in my understanding of MS, YOU are supposed to be the DEER.
Social networking sites are not there to fire at will at a group of people minding their own business and having fun. They are there to enjoy themselves, meet and chat to friends, play stupid games, get stupid gifts and just to have fun.
However,
people tend to follow people and add people who are cool because we all want to be cool.
So get a profile, participate, have fun, become the person everyone wants as their friend and the rest will follow.
Sizzle on
