It Takes Courage to Look in the Mirror

A leader is created, not born. It has taken me 30 years to realize the humbling truth to that statement.

In the past it took a lot of courage to look at myself in the mirror and see the absolute truth. What I saw was something very ugly and disappointing. What I saw was a follower,  not a leader. I saw a woman that did not have a purpose in life and was living a mediocre lifestyle. Finally, I chose not to spend  another day on this path. I had the strong desire to make a positive change and pursue the things that would make me happy. I made the choice to go in a different direction. The place of the unknown.

Today, I chose to be a leader. It has taken a lot of work and commitment to improve my mindset, which has totally changed my lifestyle. Self development is as important as consuming food. It has to be done on the daily basis, but I am willing to do the work.

Positive results have already surfaced in my present environment and surroundings.  The people that I associate are successful and aspiring leaders. I used to associate myself with a bunch of losers. I no longer waste my time with people that chose to live a mediocre life with no sense of purpose or direction.

staciewalker,

Wow, when you look at yourself that way you have to do something!
Not many people have the courage to do it!

Keep it up, the decision is only the beginning.

Taking a good look takes courage

Most people honestly cannot stand in front of the mirror and delve deeper than the cover. Because that takes courage. It's the people that have that courage to face responsibility that become leaders.

I commend you!
