JOINING THE RIGHT COMPANY

Why are so many people today having a hard time making it in a home based business like MLM or Network Marketing? What criteria do you need to look for in a company?

Anyone who plans on working from home needs to read all of this IF they want any chance to succeed! The latest statistics being published are saying that over 97% of people who are in a home based business are failing to make a living at it! This is not very conducive to people looking at trying to add to their current income from their regular jobs! I have spent 19 years full time at home and must admit that I am very disgusted with this entire industry as a whole! In fact, I almost quit the entire MLM industry in September, 2008 due to many reasons!

Every company I joined seemed to feel that we were not worth it to keep on board by doing a number of things to force us to quit! This truly makes no sense to me except to lead to one area…greed on the part of the owners! They would do things like change their compensation plans to make more money for them and less for us. I worked so hard to build a downline only to watch it erode away and force me to quit and start all over again with another MLM company only to see if happen again and again!

Sometimes you have to wonder why owners think this way. It seems that they are shallow minded to think that if they can make a lot more money now, who cares what happens later. Then I try and picture what I would do if I were an owner of these companies. Well, I guess I have a lot more feeling for people’s needs and what it can do to individual’s families over the long haul! I have seen many people file chapter 7 in court due to this same scenario which is truly sad. Where has ethical behavior gone? Are people this selfish today? Short sighted and shallow thinking instead of preserving what you have built, and to grow immensely over time!

No one has a crystal ball to predict what will happen once you put all your time and effort in trying to build a supposed “walk away income” that ALL these companies preach to you as you move through this MLM industry. As I learn more and more and am able to dissect companies, I tend to find better and better companies to represent! What we really have to watch out for is all the “hyped” up promoters out there whose only goal is to scam you! If you buy into hype and do not use you God given gift of a brain, you lose and so do all the people you introduce to your opportunity!

What do you need to stay away from? High cost buy in and high monthly auto ships over $50.00. Startup kits that cost money instead of a free sign up. Monthly web site costs as they should be free! Annual renewal fees as there should be none. Stay away from all Binary, Breakaway, Unilevel, and Hybrid Compensation Plans! The Matrix Compensation Plan is the most rewarding of all of them due to spillover! But, all Matrices are not created equal, there are many bad ones too. Look at the real value of the product you are promoting and see if it really is a savings for the customers you introduce it to.

Never do a start up program since the deck is stacked against you! Why? FACT: Over 95% of all new programs fail in their first 2 years of operation! People think if they get in at the beginning they will make a lot of money since they feel that no one else will know about it so they can get a lot of people in their downline this way! Ask yourself this question: Do I want to spend all my time and effort building a program knowing that I have a 5% chance to succeed? This should be a no brainer! Do NOT let yourself get caught up in the HYPE out there and let these high pressure salesmen convince you to part with you money and time to be at the top, it is a farce! I know of companies that are 20 years old that are still an opportunity and many that are not due to their program!

There is only one industry that has stood the test of time and that people have as the highest priority on their to do list and that is health, wellness, and skin care! We can see several companies who are still around after 30 years like Herbalife, Shaklee, Mary Kay, Nature’s Sunshine, and several others! People think that these affiliate type programs, money games, cash gifting, travel, telecoms, and various other types will make them money! They may, but they never last past a couple of years if that! Ask yourself this: Do I truly want to build it once and have walk away income or do I want to work the rest of my life to keep money coming in? What it truly comes down to is this in our economy; people want to look good and live longer to truly enjoy life. If you help people in this area and since they purchase these “consumable” products each month, this ends up being a “True Residual Income for Life” Remember, the product must be consumable!

Going back to the variables you need to look for to insure your best chance to succeed long term are:

1] The products must be consumable and help people stay healthy and look good!

2] Find a company that you research that has ethical owners and has no negative comments published about them. Here is one great place to look up how people feel about companies> http://www.scam.com/forumdisplay.php?

3] Google the company you are looking to join and talk to current reps, look for posts in different forums that are unbiased.

4] Research compensation plans and do not do anything but a Matrix Comp Plan since all the rest do not guarantee spillover. When you see a comp plan that has a ton of hoops to jump through to reach the top payout, run away as fast as you can!

5] Call the owners and talk to them to get that gut feeling about them and their motives (not always a good guarantee since many are great liars).

6] Research the products to see if they really are a true value to the people that will make up the bulk of your check, customers!

7] Make sure the company is at least 3 years old and has had steady growth!

8] Once you have decided on a company you want to promote, interview your sponsor and make sure you feel that they are there for your total support! You have no idea of how many people who I talk to that once they are signed up, their so called sponsor (truly just a recruiter) leaves them on their own once they convince them in most cases to order a BIG order!

9] Make sure there is NO FEES to sign up, no high auto ship requirements over $50 per month to start and no other monthly or annual fees for web sites or renewal fees. This simply tells me that the owners are truly greedy!

10] Make sure that the company is in at least 60 countries so you are not limited to the areas you can build! You will make contacts all over the world via social networking, so why leave a lot of money on the table by limited yourself?

11] Make sure they have a diverse product line like about 20 or more products in different areas so that you can help people with different needs or you will limit yourself again and have to turn down a lot of people and leave more money on the table. Not only that, but as people order more products, your income goes up so why not have a diverse product line?

12] Make sure that they have a system in place for total support of not only you, but the people you bring in so no one is left behind! Ongoing conference calls, webinars now and then and full upline support for your success. We use recorded calls and videos to help our downline to bring people in.

13] READ the policies and procedures of ANY company you plan on promoting! This is the biggest mistake of many people! I know many companies that state if you move you’re personally sponsored people into ANY other program they have the right to terminate you! I am NOT an employee and would never even give a company a second look if I read this! It tells me that they are afraid of losing people due to a poor quality product line, over priced products, or their comp plan is lousy!

14] Spend time studying all facets of the company and if you decide it meets or exceeds all these variables, you feel good about your sponsor, sign up and test the products before you start promoting it! I hope this will help many of you from failure and if so, I have done my job!
