What If I Can't Promote My Company Products Online?
You know, I was thinking about that but if you think carefully, you'll suddenly find the answer. And when it comes to you, it's like a thunder bolt.
Through reading and reflecting, and really figuring things out, I don't need to worry about this question. Why? It is very simple.
First, we know, that customers, reps, the world want to know about you. You're the product, your the business. So, if that's the case and let's say you business is skin care, then you'd not promote the products on skin care. You'd write valuable content to HELP people SOLVE their skin problems.
For example, I am a guy but I know a lot about skin care. That is because we are in a business and one of the products is skin care and nutrition. My wife has now been trained as a beautician. I have been trained in the health and nutrition. So, here's what we are doing now, and hope it helps you.
Lead Capture Page
1. We are creating a lead capture page. This lead capture will have a form on it for people to fill. We are working carefully on the words we choose on our capture.Copyrighting is so important. So we are making sure the design and the words go together and attracts. Hooks people in.
2. What's going to hook them in as well, is the value we are going to give. We are going to give FREE samples of skin care products. We also got an amazing story on how it started.
We make sure to saying why they need to fill in the form. The benefits they will get from these samples and the information. Obviously we word it right because you need to consistently remind the person what they are going to get and why they need to fill in that form. The benefits they are going to have. The results.
Keep To Your Promise Please
3. We know we can back what we say and we fulfil the promise we give. This is very important. You see, if you give a promise and say FREE, and then they fill in that form, and suddenly they are lead to a page from a email link, and find its not free, you lost the trust. You haven't been honest.
And a LOT of people have been doing this. They also do this with writing articles. This should not happen. Seriously, be very careful on this. You don't build trust and relationship that way. So please, when you give a promise, deliver what you promise. It is very annoying for people when this happens to them and it has happened to me many a times. To such I won't trust that company or person again.
After They Fill In The Form
4. So, now, they fill in the details. And they get the samples but wait. They also get access to the BLOG. That's right. The moment they fill in that form and submit, straight away the email auto-responder sends them a message. Now, they are in the system and they recieve valuable content on how to look after their skin, nutrition. Not "we are selling this, and this product is great, and.." Forget it. That's not the way.
Giving Value
This is the moment to give great valuable content. What they will help them. This helps us to build relationship with the people who have filled in the form on the lead capture page. Guess what?
The articles have been written. Yes, myself and my wife prepared everything. We're not taking chances here. We know we may introduce new articles because of what we are learning and like to share with the potential clients immediately because it will benefit them. But having articles in vast numbers already written really helps.
The Blog
Now, after quiet a few articles, we introduce the blog. And the face on the blog is my wife. We work as a team. I help to bring traffic in and she helps to keep the people in. It is important to work as a team.
I learn so much from my wife because my personality is dominant, aggressive, right on your face and by wife will help me to see the blind spots I don't see in me. My wife is supportive, influenc and loves people, loves helping, and very, very patiant. Things I needed to work on and got right but it took a lot of time. Self development is vital to our growth.
Together we are a team, leaders, working together, teaching each other, making sure we serve people, build people and this builds the businesses.
Your Branding
5. Now, the blog is ready. They see our world. On that blog is my wife sharing knowledge. For example - everyone's skin is different. Some have oily skin. Some have dry skin. Some have..and so on. So she uses her expertise, her knowledge to share and help women. I on the other hand, talk about the men side of skin car, health and nutrition. Yeah, I too look after myself. Leaders always do.
So now, people get to know us but recieve valuable content. What about the free samples they get. Oh, we know we are going to get result because we tested this out already and it works. They recieve the sample through post and a video in email on how to use it. The moment they test the product and see the result it is over. Many have bought already through us testing things out. So we know it works like a treat.
They continue to recieve valuable content because we want to build relationship with people forever. We are not thinking short term but long term.
Take Ownership
6. On the blog, it has our branding. Not the company we are associated with. No. We are the company. It's our business. Our Inc. I don't care if I am in this business or that. It's not the business that sells but our branding, relationship and some big companies haven't figured out what Mike has been teaching. They need to get with program. I don't wait for such companies to change. I am a leader and so is my wife, and so we make things happen.
Take ownership of your business and don't wait for changes to happen by some big corporation. Take charge and do the thing on paper, plan it, design it, meet with the big company and show them.
The Fine Tuning Essentials e.g. Feeders, Keywords, Twitter, Facebook etc
7. I add a feeder. I make sure our blog is submitted to every feed on the basis of what we are into. I am not going to send it to some "how to do mechanics." This is not a mechanic blog. So don't spam. If you do, you will be cornered and you will be seen as someone who is a newbie, and someone who have disregard for trust, relationship building and profesisonalism. Those who spam will filter away. They may make money now, but they will not for long!
I will also be combining twitter, facebook, and every platform we are in, and the goal is to link them to the lead capture page, which links to the blog. Boom! The goal is set. Always leading to the main goal. Yes, there are other essential things we will apply, like keywords and ads on craiglist, and so on.
Value is KING!
But if the content is rubbish, then forget it. If the traffic isn't targeted, then waste of our time. It has to be done right.
Trust And Building Relationships
You can still make your business grow by sharing Valuable Content. It doesn't have to be about you selling the product. It shouldn't be but rather, giving knowledge, value to people who then see you as an expert in that field.
So much so, no matter what you recommend, they will trust you. Make sure you are honest and you are loyal to whatever you recommend first. Build that trust. I'll fill in what we have done afterwards. I am so having a blast on the internet and we're learning a lot.
