02/11: Today's progress
Here is the post I made to my group today (Women Helping Women):
I'm back from my extended hiatus and ready to hit the ground running.
What has been the most positive result that you've achieved by leveraging BetterNetworker.com?
Examples:
Have you sponsored anyone into your business?
Have you entered into a joint venture with another member?
Have you discovered a mentor?
Have you made a new friend?
Let me know your story, I'm interested in hearing what's going on out there?
Those of you who don't belong to my group, feel free to join, or, alternatively, share your story here via a comment.
Now, for today's "Ten Things"
1) Add at least 1 new friend to my network daily. Fierce - logging in to find +2 new connections (+42 for the month-to-date - monthly goal of 28 has been exceeded)
2) Comment on at least 1 one guestbook daily with a positive comment. Fierce - commented in 1 new guestbook today.
3) Add at least one piece of content daily (either article or blog). Fierce - 1 blog. (you're reading it)
4) Make one group post daily to the group that I lead or any that I am a member of, the content should either be useful, thought-provoking or conversation-generating. Fierce - See above.
5) Establish a business contact list for Yahoo Instant Messenger and host "office hours" to network with other BetterNetworker.com members who might be interested in joint business ventures. Tragic - Haven't expended any effort on this to date.
6) Remain positive, give back even before I've gotten anything out of the community, and hope that my work here gets noticed by the "big guys" in the industry. Questionable - This will stay at this rating until I get some positive feedback from one of the "big names" (at which time I'll probably be bouncing off the walls).
7) Be respectful of others and only provide the details of my opportunity if asked. I've been trying very hard not to even provide a link in my signatures (although I advocate this technique and use it all over everywhere else). Fierce. 'Nuff said.
8) Develop statistical data on the usage and habits of those on BetterNetworker.com. Things like "How many users create a profile and are never heard from again?" or "Which groups generate the most traffic and why?" or "Who is out there providing useful content without spamming their opportunity all over the place." Tragic - I'm not sure if this is a viable goal. Need to revisit and make a substitution if I can't generate any more thought about specifics..
9) Stay positive and focused. Fierce. 'Nuff said.
10) Limit my time on BetterNetworker.com to 1 hour per day (there is other stuff I need to be doing, after all). Fierce/Questionable: Total elapsed time today, only 20 minutes. Not making all of my checklist lowers it beyond a solid "fierce" however. Need to spend some time offline revisiting a couple of my original ideas.
Ciao for now.
