On 10/27 I posted my article on "How to Leverage Better Networker for Success"
And I got serious about following my own advice.
It's been 9 days since I was practically at ground zero. On two of those days, I took a road trip to hang out with friends in South Carolina (remember, having more fun *is* part of the equation), so I didn't really do anything to grow my network at all.
I've now got almost 100 connections, and have cleared the first hurdle, having made Level 2.
My goal is to hit Level 3 (Pre-Alpha Networker) by January 1, 2009.

Congratulations Melinda. I'm sure you will reach level 3 before long. The big hurdle for most in reaching level 2 seems to be the need to have 3 new people join BN through the referal link. This also happens to be the fastest way to earn points. I hope to follow in your footsteps before long.

My Mentor Taught me....

great post. I didn't realize you had to refer 3 people to reach level 2, thanks!
I just thought I'd throw something out there that my mentors have taught me over the years when it comes to mindset.
I know it may seem little because i thought it was insignificant too at one time, but I am finding that success amounts to all of the little seemingly insignificant things you do on a consistent basis.
You mention hoping to follow in Melinda's footsteps.... what my mentor said was HOPE is for the undecided. So just go out there and make things happen for yourself today!

Actually...
You don't have to have three people join, you have to *invite* 3 people using the link that Better Networker provides you. I had 205 points, and the minute I sent out the invites, my status was changed to Level 2.
