Network Marketing - Leave an Imprint Brand Yourself
You know when you meet someone for the first time and days later you remember them?
That person probably left an imprint with you somehow. Maybe said something really nice to you or something funny or was just an awesome person to be around with.
When you are prospecting by phone you want to leave an imprint or brand yourself so your prospects remember you.
I’m going to share with you something that I use. This works for me but after you read this it will help you understand and you can put your own twist and personality into what you say. So your prospect will immediately like you and remember you. Remember this takes practice. The more you do it the better you will become.
I will say, “Hi Mary this is Tom from New York”. I’m sure you can probably tell by my accent hahahah. 9 out of 10 prospects get a friendly laugh out of this. I’m calling you because of blah blah blah. Then I briefly get back to where they are from. 9 out of 10 people will then say, “Tom what part of New York are you from”? I say, “If you are looking at the map I’m that little Island right next to New York. Then the prospect will say, “Ok”. Then I will say, “But it’s not like Hawaii or anything hahaha”. Again 9 out of 10 will get a friendly laugh out of this.
Now what I am doing within minutes is telling the person that I am nice and have a sense of humor. They also know why I am calling them. I am building a relationship with this person within minutes.
Now here is why I use Tom From New York. I live in New York (Long Island) obviously. I definitely have a New York accent which most people love. Now after I get off the phone I want this person to remember me. My websites are http://www.tomfromnewyork.com/ or http://www.tomfromny.com/ (So when I give them the website I don’t have to spell it out. I just say Tom From New York dot com) I always leave off saying I will send them an email and in the subject I put Tom From New York so they remember me.
Cool right!!!
That is 1 of the ways I brand myself by phone.
So let me ask you this???
When you have a new prospect on the phone what do you say? Do you think your prospect will remember you when you hang up?? So have fun and get creative and unique and find something that you are comfortable saying. If you are not comfortable saying it, you will sound unconfident and your prospect will pick up on this. You will probably lose them. I heard someone in my company say, “If they laugh with you they will sign with you”. That is so true!
