I must be missing something...

The beauty of being a full-time network marketer is that you have the ability to ignore most of the negativity in the mainstream media if you choose - and I do choose to do so.

While most of the country was freaking out about the economy and issues surrounding the bailout, I was hiking with my kids in Colorado.  The aspen leaves were a beautiful yellow and the air was crisp and clean.

We had an amazing week and never turned on the tv or radio.  A newspaper arrived at our door each day, but we tossed it into the trash before reading it.  Life was grand.

After returning home this week, we saw some of our friends and they did not seem as happy, positive, and refreshed as us.  In fact, they looked fearful and devastated.

One just got laid off.  Another lost a fortune in the stock market.  And another was having to forclose on his home.  One was putting his home, boat, car, jeep, and exercise equipment up for sale.

These are the same friends who had said 'no' to my mlm opportunity just over 2 years ago as I was launching my business.

This alarmed me.  I immediately logged into my online banking accounts to make sure something horrible had not happened to me.  Fortunately, everything was good, in fact it was better than when I left on vacation.

It is nice to be a spectator, not a participant, in this economic crisis.

Yes, there will be plenty of half-empty people saying that I am naive and that I will notice the higher fuel prices and the resultant higher prices of produce, groceries, etc.  These are the same people who believe that network marketing won't work.

Here is how the economy is affecting me:

I am moving to Denver, Colorado next week.  I can buy the house of my dreams at a discount; in fact, I can practically name my price.  While I am driving, there will be less people on the road and less people at the pumps.

When I go to restaurants, I never have to wait, because the non-network marketers are not eating out as much.  I can show up right before the movie starts and get the middle seat on the 18th row.  I don't even have to wait at the car wash - just zip right through.

So life goes on in my mlm world and it seems to be getting better each day...
