Is it “Nascar” on the Dirt?

Is it “Nascar” on
the dirt?

Let's Go Racing Boys!

Are you like me?

As the weekend approaches, I get more and more excited for
the Nascar race on the television.

While it is true that I love Nascar races, they can’t
compare in my book, to attending a local dirt track for a night of racing.

Mostly local racers, struggling to afford the thing they
love to do.

While it’s true that Nascar is only one class of car, at the
local tracks, you will see several classes of cars in the competition.

At most tracks, there is a class called late model or super
late model. These happen to be my favorite class because I refer to them as
“Nascar on the dirt”.

Do It in the Dirt!

Body style is very much the same, suspensions and tires are
slightly different because of track surface, engine horsepower are equal but
one is built for speed and other requires more torque.

If you are a Nascar fan then you have an image of the track
and the cars, usually 35-40 cars on a large asphalt track with speed upwards of 200 M.P.H.

Maybe you’re not as familiar with late model dirt track
racing, so let me try to paint the picture. Most dirt tracks are between ¼ and
½ mile ovals, some are banked, some are not. Now think about 24-26 cars within
a small oval at speeds of 70+ M.P.H. Oh Yea!
I almost forgot most dirt tracks are only about half as wide.

Got the picture, feel the excitement, what a show.

Is it “Nascar” on the dirt?

No you may ask yourself: why would I explain all of this?

First, I love motorsports racing and I felt like it.

Second, the motorsports business is all about branding and marketing. That’s why when you turn on the TV or visit your local track, you see sponsor decals all over the car.

By the way, we call them “go fast stickers”, the sticker
itself has nothing to do with speed, but the revenue has everything to do with
it.

Companies and business owner understand the importance of
exposure and branding on their products or opportunities.

That’s why in almost every driver interview, they will thank
several sponsors on the car for their support and confidence in them.

Track owners, drivers and business’s know just how important
this leverage can be for them.

Function of Branding

You might be thinking, my business is not in motorsports?

Yea! So what?

It’s the principal that counts, every ad you place is a “Go
Fast Sticker” somewhere.

Every value based blog, article, or note that you create and
post add permanent real estate to your brand.

Every time your name, company name, or username gets seen or
used adds to your exposure and leverage.

How can “McDonalds” charge 1.5 million for a franchise fee,
it has branding, exposure and leverage all over the world.

Or TV networks charging, between 300K – 500K for a 30 second

Coporate Sponsors

spot, during the “Superbowl”, same reasons.
In fact, this year alone, one of the major soft drinks companies tried
to pull out of the “Superbowl”, ended up going back because the other one did
not pull out. WHY!

You can find example after example of these decisions made
in the business world.

Do you think this just happened over night, not by a long
shot?

It took work, hard work to make this happen.

It is going to take the same effort for your business as
well.

Hope this has had value for you and your business.

Till we talk again:
