I JUST GOT FRIGGEN FIRED!!!
Well, it's 6:50am here in the great state if Illinois, and I'm looking across the street at the Starbucks, with this in mind:
I DON'T HAVE A FRIGGEN JOB!!!
You see, yesterday I got let go from my IT position at ExxonMobil for violating their security policy. I had a police baton in my car, which I always have in case I need to use it, I just forget that it's in there. The security office (who actually did his job) searched my car, found it, and said that he was going to set it at the guard house. I could have it back at the end of the day.
I never knew the end of the day was going to be at 12:30pm.
This is just one of the things that has happened in the past month, along with:
1) Going swimming in Lake Michigan with my cell phone in my pocket
2) Losing my laptop, and all the information on it, along with pictures, important documents, etc.
3) The basement at my property got flooded and the roof's leaking from all the rain we received from Ike, without any money to repair it.
4) Getting subpoenaed for a court case concerning a business partner's divorce
5) Receiving an e-mail from a guy comparing my to John McCain and him not being vetted into my MLM opportunity like Sarah Palin was.
(that last one was pretty funny, actually)
With all these things, whether it was reaping what I sowed or whatever the case may be, the only thing I can say is:
PRAISE GOD!!!
I say this for a couple reasons:
1) I've never heard a success story that started out with "I'm a millionaire attorney. I have a trophy wife, and 4 grown kids, of which 3 graduated from Ivy League schools, and one from Notre Dame (GO IRISH!!!) Then I got into Network Marketing, and I made even more money!"
Maybe there are some, but I've never heard them. It's always the former waiter, who didn't have a dime, who found a system that worked, used it, and is now financially secure. Or how about the single mother, with two kids, who took a change on MLM, failed repeatedly, but kept going, and is now financially secure. That's the story I'm about to write.
2) James 1:1-12 -- If you have a Bible, just read it. It helps me a TON and I thank my lovely girlfriend for reminding me of it.
As Jim Valvano (former NC State Coach) said on February 21, 1993, while living with the diagnoses of metastatic bone cancer: "Don't give up. Don't ever give up."
I know I'll be writing my success story soon. I know this will help a lot of people as well.
