The 4 Principles of a Bold Leader...Part 2
True Discipleship
As Leaders, We Are Called to Make Other Leaders, Not Converts
This principle is of utmost importance inside the realm of anything: a J.O.B., network marketing, evangelism, family life, etc. For right now, we're looking into network marketing. How many times have you hear of someone who "converted " a person into buying their small-business op? I've heard it a lot, heck, I've even tried to convert myself. You go off by saying "XYZ company has the greatest pay plan to ever hit the face of the earth, and all you need to do is sign up two people...who signs up two...who signs up two, then you get a dollar." But what happens after they get that dollar or they find out it's not as easy as it seems? Answer: they quit and go back to what they know best.
The problem with that has nothing to do with the downline consultant; the problem had to do with the sponsor, or leadership. So often we would rather make converts, than to spend the time to make other leaders. Making converts may be profitable in the short haul, but in the long run, they start to fall off. By spending time to make other leaders, on the other hand, what you're doing is creating an extension of yourself...of your beliefs. Instilling in them what you know works effectively, and training them in the way that they should go, is the only way to see explosive results.
