Under a Basket...

I just got off the phone with an old friend of mine, who I wanted to do lunch with.  This is a guy who I use to be roommates with and was like a really annoying older brother to me.  This is a guy who use to have a successful car dealership and trucking business, that was taking a lot of his time, is now married, and has a lot of debt due to hospital bills for his wife and little boy.

While he was telling me this, my heart broke.  I was hesitant in presenting him with my "opportunity".  I mean, he has a lot of crap going on in his life, and though it's just for season, it's still a lot to deal with.  He's not going through this because he's lazy, incompetant, or not a good business man.  He's just having a rough time...like a lot of Americans are right now.

I had to think about it for a minute: whether to present this or not.  If I did, I could be rejected, but if I didn't (and I really believed in the company I'm with) I'd be doing him a great disservice.  I didn't have to convince myself that this was something that he needed to look at.  I know that he needs to look at it.

Do you have a business that you're hiding under a basket, that you firmly believe in, that has a great upline to train you, and when done right, will make a lot of money?  Do you know people who, when trained, will make money almost automatically?  Then why are you hiding it?

Now, you don't go after everyone who has a bad story to tell, sell them a business, and expect them to make money.  There are the lazy and greasy sales people that you need to stay away from, who won't help you, your customers, or anyone else.  But there are those who are always interested in making money, and know how to do it effectively, those who are just in a bad rut, and those who, when they break out of their shells, will be very successful.

I was the latter.

If you know friends or families like that, don't be afraid to present your business to them.  If they want to do it, and will be trained to work it effectively, awesome!  If they want a get-rich-quick plan, are lazy, or unteachable, then there's a reason why they're in the situation they're in.

The gap between the rich and the middle class is widening, and within the upcoming years, there will be only two classes of people: the rich and the poor.  Which one do you want to be?  Which one would you want your hard working, teachable friend to be in?
